Hello,
I have a recent Samsung VM-MX25E SD Camera, and I use Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate to edit my videos captured from it.
The incoming format is in Mpeg-4, and Pinnacle is supposed to read it without any problem.
However, when I import the mpeg-4 files, I manage to play them for a while on Pinnacle (1 or 2 times), I add titles and transitions, and during the final playback (and even before), a blue ! appears on the screen of the Pinnacle player, making it impossible to play the video; I only get the audio, and the final conversion to AVI doesn't work.
I wanted to use Pinnacle because it accepts the mpeg-4 from my camera and allows me to quickly convert my movie to AVI.
I hope to achieve this, as otherwise I would have to transcribe to AVI file by file, and Movie Maker does not accept mpeg-4....

Hello, Pinnacle claims to natively support the AVCHD format (H264 codec) without recoding into an uncompressed format for editing, with some issues.
The MPEG-4 standard can use various profiles, with H264, and camcorder brands (JVC, Xacti) have their proprietary formats that are often incompatible with commercial software. -

Hello
I think it's normal, you must be missing the codecs to play these videos here: xp codec pack or this here: k-lite codec pack

Yes, but Pinnacle is supposed to read MPEG-4 without issue; it does, but I feel like it's limited in duration.
I'll try these codecs. Thanks for your help.
