HP printer stuck, blinking continuously

Hello,
I have a problem with my HP printer: the light that indicates a paper jam or no paper at all is flashing continuously, along with the stop/power button. And of course, it is impossible to print anything.
However, I checked: there is no paper stuck, nor anything unusual, apparently.
I have turned the printer and the computer off several times: nothing works.
This is the first time I have had this problem with this printer and I don't know what to do anymore!
If anyone can help me, that would be great!!
