Good evening, wanting to play a private game of Demigod with my friends through GameRanger, I join a hosted game, but I receive an error message that directs me to this page:

It mentions port and address translation, I followed their instructions:
- I logged into my Neufbox
- AND I opened the requested UDP port (16000) for my local address
- Saved and restarted the box
Yet it still doesn't work! Did I make a mistake somewhere?
I should mention that I am using Wi-Fi.

Problem solved, and definitively:
For those who might have the same issue as I did: if opening the ports in the router doesn’t work, disable all firewalls, including Windows!
When I disabled my firewall (which I had allowed to open those ports), I was able to connect with other players!

Thank you, the Orange box firewall is blocking.
That's exactly what I thought! The game is using other ports that you haven't opened
When you're in DMZ (which means the router's firewall is disabled) and the game is running, you press alt+tab to change the window and go back to your desktop while the game is running.
Then you open your start menu, programs, accessories, command prompt.
A black window will appear. You type: netstat -a
Pay special attention to the ports that are active for the addresses 192.168.1.x (x is your PC's address)
Do the same thing without running the game and the ports you no longer find are the ones that the game is using.
You will now know which ones to open on your router.

It would be to play with my friends AND with other people around the world! The problem with LAN is that someone has to move, whereas the advantage of this software is being able to chill at home.
If the game used other ports, that would have been mentioned in the link that the error message sent me..
And yes, my firewall does allow the application of this game, I already checked :)

Actually no, the problem is still not resolved :(
On Friday night I was able to play a session online but today I tried again, and it doesn’t work! Yet I didn't touch my PC over the weekend, and nobody else did either...
What should I do?

Even if I try to connect to another server, I still get the same error! Could there be an issue with the fact that I am on Wi-Fi?

Well, I can't see it either!
Otherwise, put your router in DMZ and see if you can connect to a part.

Hi! I fixed the issue, I can finally play online!
The port-forwarding I had set up on the box was good, but I was missing the other ports that hadn't been communicated to me, which I found on other forums.
So there you go, problem solved :)
