Connection issue with Robotino

Hello,
I am currently working on a Robotino 2.156 and the problem is as follows: when I try to connect to the Robotino's AP, my laptop gets stuck on the "reading network address" phase, meaning that the Robotino could not assign a network address to my PC. So I manually assigned a suitable IP address to my PC and was able to connect, but the problem is that I cannot communicate, even a simple ping always fails.
In fact, we have several Wi-Fi networks at the school and the channel on which my Robotino operates is 1. I don't know what the problem is, but I need help.
PS: the Robotino is equipped with a wap-0004 as a wlan interface and a PC-104
