Hello everyone,
I just bought an eee pc 1000he, running XP, and then I wanted to try Windows 7 (RC)...
At first glance, everything seems to be working fine, except that the functions of my keyboard (volume, etc.) have been disabled. The same goes for the touchpad (no more zoom option, no more two-finger vertical scrolling).
So I searched for drivers on the internet: the issue for the touchpad is resolved (the Elantech drivers work well under Vista and 7), but not for the keyboard...
More seriously, the Super Hybrid Engine software, from Asus I believe (for power/battery management), does not exist for Vista and 7. And I have a feeling that the battery life is suffering...
Lastly, eee storage, which seems to be compatible only with XP.
That's all, I've covered everything.
Thank you in advance for your solutions, while waiting for updates from Asus...

Problems Resolved
You need to download the Super Hybrid Engine Utility setup here
https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Other-DRIVERS-TOOLS/Asus/Asus-Eee-PC-1000HE-Super-Hybrid-Engine-Utility-116.shtml#download
or on the Asus website
Then right-click on the setup > troubleshoot compatibility > try recommended settings > (it suggests XP Sp2 mode) start the program > (the setup will launch, proceed with the installation) click on finish (the setup window will close) > (you return to the program compatibility window) click next > yes, save these settings ...
With this method, I recovered my battery usage modes with the Fn+ space keys
Hoping this resolves your issues

Hello, I followed your method but for the EEE PC 1001 HA, so I installed Super Hybrid Engine for that and did what you said, but it didn't work; it detects an incompatible module. Can you help me?

Thank you! For me, the super hybrid works great because until now it was telling me "Bios Error," which prevented me from taking the risk of updating the BIOS; I didn't feel comfortable doing it. However, for the Fn keys, nothing works except for F1, F5, and F6. I will install the Fn drivers in XP mode; we'll see how it goes!

I've restarted it, but it doesn't work anymore.. It gives me a BIOS error.
Well, I solved my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth driver issues, here's how I did it
right-click on Computer > Manage > Device Manager > right-click on Unknown device > Scan for hardware changes
it found the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers as well as the ACPI controller which allows recovering the functions with the Fn key
however, Fn + space does not work, it shows me "missing Asus SHE driver, please install the Asus SHE driver"
so now I'm looking for a solution to this problem

I own a 1000h and although I believe I followed the installation method above: no way to recover the SHE (no reaction)... neither the keyboard shortcut (3rd key at the top) nor launching via the program shortcut...
I tested versions 1.03 and 1.16 without success...
Any idea? I'm open to suggestions...

Hi community ..
I just wanted to share my experiences with eee
I have installed several OS on 3 types of eee,
aside from some searches for some recurring drivers, everything is fine, I still have a preference for Linux :D
OS tested: XP, XP Pro 64 nlite and various crackers, Vista 32 and 64 (the 64 is useless but why not lol), Ubuntu, and the famous Seven in ultimate 32-bit
What we look for in an eee is performance combined with minimum energy consumption ..
That's why I recommend sticking with a good XP which honestly doesn't disturb what serves as its hard drive (massive storage) and is compatible with everything ...
Yeah, Vista is pretty, Seven is also great, but just for show ...
I reserve that for my desktop PC
Friends eeepc
Ask yourself a question or two lol
Performance or turtle

Hi everyone
I installed Seven on my Eee PC 1005 without any problems after updating the BIOS with the version available on the ASUS server
Also, I downloaded all the up-to-date drivers for Seven and there are no issues
EXCEPT;
I have the XP boot progress bar instead of the one for Seven ?????
And you?

Hello everyone
I read the previous lines and I also have an Asus 1000HE with Windows 7 RTM installed on it recently (I did a complete install without XP).
I haven't had any issues with the touchpad; it works very well. However, the Fn keys do not work, I no longer have Wi-Fi, and even less Bluetooth. I looked for drivers for Seven, but I couldn't find any, only XP drivers, and there's nothing on the Asus website (it's annoying for a laptop not to have Wi-Fi :( ).
I could use XP virtualization (even though I haven't tested it yet), but I prefer to find the drivers.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thank you in advance.

Hello, I would also like to install Windows 7 Pro on my EeePC 1000H, but I want to make sure I can recover the utilities and drivers present on the CD provided by Asus (the CD supports XP).
Windows 7 probably won't recognize this CD, will it?
The drivers and utilities won't work on Seven either?
Thank you for your answers.

Hi rom123S
I don't know if you read my 2 topics, but I have an EEEPC 1000HE. Originally, I had XP on it, then I did a complete installation of Windows SEVEN Integral RTM. After that, I had some issues with the WiFi and Bluetooth drivers, as well as the Super Hybrid Engine, but I solved everything. If you install Seven on your EEEPC and you have issues, follow the steps I mentioned above, and you shouldn't have any problems.
Seven on EEEPC works pretty well; I'm waiting a bit to install it on my desktop PC.
