Hello,
I put my car up for sale on a free site, and that very evening I received an email from a man who was very interested. He claims it’s for his wife’s birthday and says one of his employees will come to pick it up. He hasn't asked for any other information about the car; he’s only seen it from the outside, and he wants my exact name and address for the bank check. I gave him my husband's phone number so they could discuss it together, but he says he tried and it’s impossible for him, and he gave me his number, which is 00225 02 04 55 91. Can someone tell me which country this is from because frankly, I find it a bit strange. Thank you

Forget about that guy, the easiest thing for you is to sell your car to someone from your country and get paid in cash.
This way, you run much less risk.

the 225 is indeed Ivory Coast,
when you type this man's phone number and "scam" into Google, you come across this post:

00225 = Ivory Coast
Numbers starting with 00225 0xxxxxxxx and 00225 4xxxxxxxxx are prepaid mobile phones, thus untraceable; it is part of the scam, so they cannot be tracked down.
Also beware of 0044 70 xxxxxx which are call transfer centers. Your contact tells you they are in England while they are actually answering from Africa.
