Hello,
I have a problem with my computer;
It's an HP Compaq DC7600 (Celeron D 2.66 GHz) with an HP 097Ch motherboard with integrated sound, without a speaker that output directly from the unit (it's not a tower, it's a type where you can place the monitor).
The problem is as follows, my sister wanted to uninstall a few things to lighten the computer, but she must have uninstalled a sound driver or something, and now there’s no sound.
When I go to audio devices, it says that no audio device is installed.
Can you help me?

I downloaded all the sound drivers that HP offered me (2), but it doesn't change anything about the problem...

There are two.
Pepito> Where can I download the chipset and what will it be useful for in the problem, please? (I'm trying not to install just anything either. ^^)

Can you link us to where you get the choice of the two sound card drivers please?
And pepito10 is right, it’s likely that the yellow exclamation points are linked together and that they don’t work without each other.
Now double-check, since you tell me that you have installed sound drivers: did you retrieve "driver update" as I suggested at the beginning? Let me explain: if you installed a wrong driver, it won't work, but there is one installed so it can be updated with a good one.
See you!

Hello,
a solution that has already worked: start/control panel/system/hardware/device manager/[look for what corresponds to the sound hardware] and click on it to select it/right mouse button/properties/driver/[then select "update driver". The update is done by downloading from the internet, and hopefully the problem will be resolved.

ok,
well then it's getting complicated.
If the sound is integrated, then it depends on the motherboard.
So you need to go to the manufacturer's website of the motherboard, sometimes to the complete computer manufacturer's site to download the appropriate drivers. I just took a look at HP's website, you should find what you need but there are several models of your computer, so it's up to you...

After installing this driver, will I need to try updating the audio drivers again or would that solve everything?
I have quite a few things that all have an exclamation point, when I try to update, either it doesn't work, or it says:
Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware. This driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Hi,
as dv59 told you, there are several models, make your choice.

All the sound drivers?
I suppose that after downloading, you installed the driver and restarted the computer. But why all the drivers? There should only be one for sound.

Well, you say you have several yellow points, by the way you should specify their names, the driver for the chipset is essential for the proper functioning of the various peripherals.
You will find it in the link I gave you.
You will find it in the link I gave you.
In fact, there won't be any need to update the drivers if they are good from the start.
Please give us the link and the titles of the lines with a yellow dot.
See you later.

For the drivers on HP:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=en&prodNameId=472259&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=472277&swLang=17&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1098
The first one and the next two seem to be the same, one for SP1 and the other for SP2.
For those with yellow exclamation points:
Audio codecs
Video codecs
Microsoft kernel audio system device
Legacy video capture devices
MCI devices
Legacy audio drivers
SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
