restore a Compaq PC to its factory settings

Hello,

I installed Windows Vista on my Compaq Presario C700 computer, but the system is incomplete, and now I want to restore my computer to its factory state to recover the original Windows Vista system I had.
Knowing that when I do "system restore," I only restore the Windows copy I installed using the CD, but I don't recover the original integrated system!

On a Compaq with Vista, it's F11 and not F10...

The problem is that if you've installed a different operating system than the original, you've probably erased the factory system recovery software, which makes using the recovery partition impossible.

If you haven't burned the recovery DVDs, I really don't see how you can reinstall your original Vista.

your original system is on a recovery partition on the hard drive or on the factory restore DVDs that you created.
if the recovery partition is not modified, you can restore it at startup by pressing a key. (the key is displayed at the bottom of the screen when starting the computer)
or by inserting the first created DVD and starting from it.
you need to back up your documents before this operation because everything will be erased.

salam brother F9 is to be used at the startup of the computer. F9 is functional if you have a factory restore partition on your HDD and it also needs to be functional, not altered or deleted. So to check, restart the computer and press F9 several times. Good luck and hang in there, brother.

In general, these PCs are restricted, and you can only use the manufacturer's CDs/DVDs and the built-in System Restore when purchased.
If you have used a different system CD/DVD than those from the manufacturer,
as already mentioned! your Recovery is deleted, since the PC is formatted during reinstallation.

You can check in Computer or in All Programs if you still have that Recovery or Smartrestore partition, or also in Disk Management!
But this partition may still exist but also be empty.
