Hello,
I have a new Acer laptop that I've been using for a few days.
The keyboard is quirky when it comes to signs and symbols, most of them do not correspond to the key.... (except . , : ......)
It is the standard PS/2 keyboard. I updated the driver, it was up to date.
Driver version: 10.0.16299.15 from 06/21/2006.
I'm hesitant to uninstall it because I'm not at all sure how to reinstall it...

Yes, it's a Belgian AZERTY keyboard, identical in every way to the one in the Wikipedia link!! But I was unaware of that..
(there I made some exclamation points but with the key that bears the "equal" sign)

The driver will reinstall itself. But I fear that the problem will remain the same. In both cases, plug in an external USB keyboard and check if the problem persists. If it doesn't, then it’s the laptop's keyboard that has the issue, but if the problem remains identical, it will definitely be more serious (electronic circuit for the keyboard part on the motherboard) Hi . . . my PC is new, and... I just plugged in a wireless keyboard and no, that one doesn't work either...

Electronic circuit on the motherboard... I hope they won't keep it for 6 months!

I conclude that you probably have a Belgian keyboard but that your computer is configured with a French France keyboard...
Do the same manipulation... without trying to get what I typed

To confirm, draw a line of characters with the top line while holding down the AltGr key
a French keyboard gives ~#{[|`\^@]}
The @ sign in France is printed on the 0 key, whereas @ in Belgium is on the 2 key,é,@

I just found the solution! And you helped me by guiding me towards the deepening of keyboards:

Control Panel ---> Clock, Language, Region ---> Language ---> Language Options ---> Input method.

And there, I found French (Belgium) - Belgian Keyboard (comma).!!!

In fact, it's confusing. There's that one, but there's also: French (Belgium) - French Keyboard. That's the one I was connected to, and it wasn't working..
