Hello,
I have a Yamaha RX-V463 amplifier, and I want to play DVDs or Blu-rays from my Acer Aspire 6920 laptop on my TV (Samsung with 1 HDMI input)... for the video, no problem... I connect the laptop to the amplifier via HDMI, and likewise from the amplifier to the TV, and it works!!!
However, it's the audio that is problematic... I can't get the sound from my computer to be heard through the amplifier's speakers using the HDMI cable...
I'm currently using an optical cable, and it works, but it's not very long and I would prefer everything to go through the same cord...
Thank you in advance for your (numerous?) responses!!

I don't know, and Méda Center doesn't read Blu-Ray.
Following an experience, I wanted to watch a simple DVD on a Full HD with Windows Media Player, the sound doesn't work, but it works if you go online, I used Windows Media Player, and there, the sound works.
You can check the HDTV configuration of your graphics card.
Are you on Vista? -
You need to open the ATI Control Center and look in the left column under Video & Television to change the signal or HD format.
I'm on GeForce to start the graphics card control panel, but you need to find the same commands under ATI.
If you are on Vista 32-bit, check here to see if you are missing anything: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=vista32/common-vista32
