Hello everyone,
I’m explaining my issue: I have a recently purchased R4 III SDHC that I can't get to work. After reading a lot of forums, I formatted my µSD card (a noname 4GB) to FAT32. I downloaded the following firmwares:
- R4IIISDHC_v3.07_French
- R4IIISDHC_v3.04_French
- R4SDHC_v1.25_French
- R4SDHC_v1.24_French
- English.1.52_RP
- French_Version3.07.
Versions downloaded multiple times from different sites, including the site indicated on the box of my card (r4iiisdhc.com). Each time, I extracted the contents of these files onto my µSD card connected to my PC. And every time, after inserting the R4 card into the DS (Lite), I get a black screen with "LOADING."
I tried the card with just the system or system+games: Same result.
Questions:
- Is it a hardware issue (µSD card)?
- Is it a file configuration issue on the µSD card?
- What files/folders should I have at the root?
- Or do I not have the right firmware?
Knowing that the ones downloaded from R4iiisdhc.com (the site on the box) do not have the "_system_" folder and the files "_DS_menu.DAT", "_DS_menu.INI" and "_DS_MSHL.NDS" are missing!!!!!!!

I installed several drivers but each time it was a failure
Then I looked at my R4 closely and noticed that on the connector part it was written in white: DSTT
I went to the site linfoxdomain.com and downloaded the DSTT Menu v1.17 French zip from DSTT/DSTTI
Once downloaded, unzip it and take the 3 files and copy-paste them onto the micro SD.

did you decompress the files before installing them?
did you install them directly to the root of the micro SD?
did you put them in a folder or by opening the French folder and copying all its contents to your SD?
my questions are not meant to offend you, it's to get an idea of your issue

in fact, you have a r4III so it's not the kernel 1.18 that is needed for the r4 revolution but the kernel 3.07 or lower 3.05 also try 1.25 also try 3.08 in fact you are the victim of a clone and you need to find the kernel that works with it

I'm definitely floundering here. Have you tried 1.18? I'm totally stuck. I'm taking a moment to gather my thoughts so I can use my brain, and I'll keep you updated.

In the meantime, I tried the following firmware (for R4 revolution):
- French-1.17
- French-1.18
And..... "Loading" is still there.
Actually, I have 2 R4 cards (they have 2 children) that were bought by friends while they were on vacation in Spain. Since they don't know anything about computers, I inherited the hot potato.
As for me, I have a DS linker 8G version 1Go and a supercard one V3 purchased from a site in France. I have never had any issues with these 2 cards.

It's not a big deal. There are so many versions and firmwares for each version that it's enough to make one lose their mind.
In fact, what really annoys me the most in this situation is the possibility of my friends' children being disappointed.

R4IIIr4-dsl: 3.08 and 3.09.
R4 revolution: 1.17 and 1.18.
And it still doesn't work. I'm starting to have serious doubts about the HC capacity.
I'm going to buy a normal 2 GB µSD card this week. We'll see.
I'm not giving up!!!!!!

Hi spc44, yes you just gave the solution. If your R4 is marked as R4 and not R4 SDHC, then the micro SD can only be a maximum of 2GB, which is incompatible with micro SD HC. So try version 1.18 first on the 2GB and keep me updated.

Hello, I just received the "R4-III Upgrade Revolution for DS (NDSL/NDS)" and the CD that comes with it is useless. The firmwares on the CD (1 English, 1 Korean, and 2 Chinese) do not work. After an hour of searching and trying, the first one that worked is 3.09 and it's in French too.

Like you, always LOADING no matter the file. I tried to reach out to some pros to send them my card so they could fix the problem, but none wanted to help me (even when I offered to pay). It's strange that some guys are so scared just at the thought of properly formatting a card... Anyway, I can't help you.

Actually, the R4 III SDHC card bought in Spain by friends is just a simple R4 Revolution.
I bought a normal 2GB Micro SD card, installed Kernel 1.18 on it, and it works perfectly.
