Hello,
My external hard drive is the F:\ drive on my PC, and when I click directly on its icon, an error message says "F:\ Application not found"

My question is why does this message appear?
How can I fix it?

Thank you in advance.

Remove the automatic execution; it should work, and tell me if you see "auto" in bold when you right-click on the drive.

I disabled autoplay. I can only open my HDD by right-clicking and selecting open or explore, whereas normally I should be able to open it by double-clicking on it.

I see, I think I have the solution to your problem.
Go to your desktop, right-click and create a new text document. Then, you save it as (the location on the desktop and name it Autorun.inf). Once that's done, you take this file, copy it, and go to the concerned drive and paste it (it will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing file, you say yes). Once finished, restart your PC and that's it.

PS: To restart faster, press ctrl + Alt + Del at the same time; it will open the Windows Task Manager. Look for "explorer.exe," click on end process, then go to File/New Task (Run) and type "explorer.exe," and it’s done. There you go.

I tried it, it doesn't work. The problem is that there is no autorun.inf file on the HDD in question, so it didn't ask me if I wanted to overwrite it.

I just did the operation again, making sure that the autorun file created on the desktop is indeed .INF because earlier it was autorun.inf.txt, so that didn't work...
And well, it hasn't changed anything...
The hard drive has a real capacity of 298 GB and there are 20 GB available, so yes I can say that there are a lot of things on it ^^ => no formatting possible

This is what I was saying, there’s a verse inside "adobe r", erase everything that’s inside and then do save as and restart, but you also need to remove adobe r from your PC, open the Windows Task Manager and end the process on adobe r
