NFS Carbon, installation patch 1.4 issue Solved

Question

Hello, I installed Need For Speed Carbon on Windows Vista and I realized that I needed to install patch 1.4 for the game to work correctly. However, during the patch installation, a strange message appears which I believe is responsible for my problem.
Here is the message:

Applying HISTORY File Patch for ' ************ '
Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was
found. No update done since file contents do not match.

So, I would like to know if my problem comes from this message and if so, how to resolve it.

If you downloaded it illegally, it might be that your ISO image is "defective".

I apologize, but I have exactly the same problem with the CD, so I think it's more likely that it's not compatible with Vista!"

Salut,  "Old File not found" ---> Old file not found.  Your NFS Carbon installation doesn't seem to be correct.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game. Then I started the installation of patch 1.4, but there's nothing to do; the same message keeps showing up. During the patch installation, the message says that the old files cannot be found, yet the game installation is done in the default location:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed Carbon

When the game starts to launch, an error message says that nfsc.exe has stopped working and the game quits.

Well, I think I'm going to try to find the Xbox 360 version second-hand because the PC version is really starting to annoy me. Thanks anyway for the advice!  P.S: Topic closed. Let it sink. Thanks.

c'est qu'il y a un dossier du même nom alors tu dois supprimer le premier.

You need to install patch 1.4 for NFS Carbon to be compatible with Vista.

Set the compatibility mode to Windows 98 or 95, you just won't be able to play in the orange territory :/
