I would like my profile on Facebook to be accessible only to my friends
and to be viewable only if I accept someone as a friend!

In short, how can I make my Facebook profile "private"?

I found it! I had the same problem, but it's really simple. Go to settings and click on Privacy.You will see two options displayed: Either "Who can see my content?" or "Who can find me with a search?". You will look at the first option and choose "Only my friends."Once you click on this option, only your friends will be able to see your personal info, photos, statuses, timeline, etc. The only photos that will be accessible are the cover photos, as they are necessarily public. could someone tell me how to make my profile private (so that my profile is not accessible to people I haven't invited as friends)?

Here's what to do to really privatize your profile:
Privacy settings,
In "Contacting you on Facebook" click on "show settings" and there you'll find "see my friends list, my interests, personal info..."
You just have to remove "everyone"!
