Vaio wireless button problem turned off

Solved

Hello,

I recently got a VAIO laptop from Sony.
I had internet set up without any problems for a month.
But this morning: big problem: the wireless connection is not working anymore!
Surprisingly, I realize that the wireless indicator, in the ON position, is not lit.
So I go online to search for a solution... desperately: I still don't have internet, which is... very inconvenient.
When I click on connections, I see: Windows did not detect any networks... I then click on: diagnose why Windows cannot find any networks and it tells me:
"enable wireless networks..."
I don't understand at all...
Thank you for shedding some light on this for me...
HELP!
Configuration: Windows Vista VAIO Sony Internet Explorer 7.0

SOLUTION FOUND:
you just need to slide the physical "cover" on the Vaio laptop! It is located on the front face of the laptop. It says Wireless, slide to "on" (it will be turned on!)

Je ne comprends pas ce que tu veux dire par "physical flap on the front of my computer"? Peux-tu être plus explicite, s'il te plaît?

Hello everyone,
like all of you, I'm having a problem with my Vaio regarding the internet connection. My wireless LAN stays OFF, and when I try to switch it ON, it says "set the WIRELESS switch on the Vaio to the On position, then try again."
I have tried to do everything you mentioned, but it's not working.
I would like to know if someone could help me?

Thank you in advance.

Sorry for the late reply, but I just had the same problem and to solve it, I had to plug in the Ethernet cable from my modem, and then the light turned on, there you go!!

Hello,

I have the same problem with my Vaio laptop.
I have reconnected all the cables of my livebox, but the Wireless Lan light is still off.
Moreover, my laptop doesn't even detect the other computers on the network, not even my desktop.
Additionally, how can I download the software if I can't connect to the internet?????

Thank you in advance.

1. Go to Vaio smart Network (simply use the two opposite arrows at the bottom right of your screen)
2. In front of WLAN you will find an arrow ... click
3. Click on Options
4. In the Mode section of WLAN options you will find 2.4GHz
5. Change it to 5GHz ..click on apply ... you will notice that the light turns on :D phew
6. After that, switch back to 2.4 GHz mode (or the mode you had at the beginning anyway) and click apply + ok

And there you go ...

Thank you very much.
I finally got my "WIRELESS" button back, but now my computer does not detect my modem, even though the WiFi indicator works and everything else too!!
What should I do?

Thank you. I went to 192.168.1.1
They indeed told me to press the famous button. I had to enter my codes again, etc...
Turning off the box didn't work...
I would be curious to know why everything went haywire, the "wireless" button, the connections (even with the Ethernet cable!). I think it comes from my provider, a few days earlier I had nothing, neither phone nor TV...
