Hello,
I just got "scammed" by PayPal through eBay!!!
But where is the security with these sites that claim to be super secure!!!!
Honestly, this is not the first time, but I'm really getting fed up now!!! I'm going to try hard to spread the word about the insecurity and inaccessibility of their services!!!! We need to warn more people because enough is enough!!!
For a little backstory:
I made sales on eBay on December 1st; I received a PayPal payment, a positive rating that I also left for her.
And on January 17th, I receive a dispute for that same payment and PayPal takes the money back, so it's on hold for now.
I call them to explain that this lady did pay me via PayPal for an eBay purchase for which she left me a positive rating, and there was never any dispute through eBay, now knowing that she is no longer registered!!! And they tell me that I need to provide proof of postage!! Okay, but when it’s a letter send AÏÏÏÏIËEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
I have the receipt for the stamps purchased at that time and I printed the item showing that I received a positive rating.
Because she is no longer registered, eBay removes the ratings!!! Hahaha, so here’s the explanation for this beautiful scam:
You create an eBay account, you buy with a letter send, you pay via PayPal. You comfortably receive the purchase at home. You unsubscribe from eBay and then you dispute all your letter sends with a dispute on all your payments sent by letter!!!!
Isn’t life beautiful!!! I just reported a great scam to PayPal and they don’t care!!!
The worst part is that by developing all this, I’ll be giving a lot of ideas to some!!!! But it’s up to PAYPAL to ensure the security of these buyers as well as their sellers via eBay!!!! It’s a shame!!!!
As for me, PAYPAL is FINISHED!!!!!
And I will find a way, even if it takes me years, to make this known!!!!! Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello!
Something quite similar happened to me.
With friends, I'm managing an association for selling cultural goods (vinyl records).
For us, PayPal was an ideal solution. Things go smoothly up to a certain amount. Then they ask us for all sorts of documents (association statutes, photocopies of identity papers, bank account details, and credit card reference). We send them the papers for the second time (we already did it at registration), but we don't have a credit card. We call them, explain the situation, and it seems fine to them. Then one day, here's what happens:
- A member of the association makes a sale (€120)
- The customer pays via PayPal
- The seller ships the package via Colissimo
- I reimburse the seller after deducting our 8% commission
- Five months go by (I said five months!)
- PayPal notifies us of a "dispute" (that's their term when they decide to screw you over) regarding the sale: you did nothing wrong, but you already feel guilty. They ask us to prove the shipment of the merchandise.
- I call their service to understand what's going on.
- Response: the request doesn't come from the buyer, but it's a "routine verification" by PayPal: I need to send the requested proof, and everything will be sorted.
- By miracle, the seller kept the Colissimo receipt, submits it to me, and I fax it along with a letter to the number provided in the emails (NB: by this point, no more French: all the emails are in English!)
- Three days later, the buyer's PayPal account is credited back the €120, and our PayPal account ended up in the red.
- I immediately stopped this payment method, and the account remained negative until someone mistakenly made a payment into this account a few months later. Once the account turned positive again, I hastily emptied it and closed it for good.
- In the six months following the closure, I received several phone calls from a collection agency regarding the repayment of €40, which I had a hard time not responding to harshly (they had nothing to do with it).
Conclusion: I cannot stress enough to be extremely wary of this company.
I don’t know what imperatives they follow, but they are capable of the utmost bad faith, and you have no possible recourse (since they don't even comply with the unjust laws they claim to enforce), nor any valid interlocutor because in this kind of situation, the person at the other end of the hotline will be of no help: it comes from higher up and is beyond them.
Where the customer is king, it’s certainly not with them.
In conclusion, we lost €120, but the worst part is the stress caused by this kind of situation, the feeling of being faced with a wall, being a pawn at their whim, whose fate is predetermined, total arbitrariness, methods worthy of the worst moments in history, it’s humiliating and completely outrageous.
There you go, I had this on my mind for a while, if this can help someone, I'll be happy.

The item I ordered on e-bay does not work.
When I go to rate the seller (tomtop-game), they no longer have an account: so there is no way to report the problem.
I then open a dispute case on Paypal. After 2 months, here is their response, in copy/paste:
"We have completed the review of this case. The claim has been denied and no refund will be issued. The tracking information provided by the seller did not confirm that the item was shipped to you."
You understood correctly, the seller did not prove that he actually sent me the item, so the case is closed against me. This is a foolproof logic!!!
It’s not over: I go back to e-bay, and there I discover that the seller has resurfaced and… hold on… he still has his 22,914 almost all positive ratings. Other scammed buyers like me have not been able to leave their ratings!!!
If that’s not a beautiful organized scam….
What do I represent as a new buyer compared to a seller who has accumulated a very large number of sales benefiting e-bay and Paypal?
As for Shagan, no, I have never dealt with this Father Louis.... Have you done any internet searches with his name... sometimes we are surprised to see that some people have the good sense to post warnings in the forums, so go do some research.
As for me, everything got sorted out after a series of letters to PayPal but also to a European consumer center based in Luxembourg!!!!!
They have experts who will handle your files in record time and with professionalism that is second to none!!!
For those interested, I can give the address.
Make sure to keep all your exchanges with the main parties involved (PayPal, buyers, sellers...) as they will need them to have some "leverage" and defend our case.
Everything was refunded to me down to the last cent...
Just so you know, PayPal made a commercial gesture... lol.... it's more that given their illegalities, they're afraid it will go further, so they prefer to "make a commercial gesture."
In similar cases, hold your ground; do not settle anything... especially with the super bailiff from PayPal, Mr. "Arnaud" (I believe); it's all about pressure and harassment.
Remaining at your disposal,
Sylvie
