display on Sony Bravia TV

Question

Hello,

When I watch TV with my Freebox HD on my Sony Bravia KDL 40L4000, it is impossible to make the AV2 (blinking S video) bar disappear on a black background at the top of the screen. Could someone help me solve this problem?

I finally managed to fix the problem by pressing the button on the top left of the remote... um, I'm embarrassed lol

Good evening,  I didn't have the problem, and then suddenly the bar at the top of the screen on my HDMI inputs refuses to go away....  Have you found a solution?   Thank you,

Hello!
Having just acquired this (huge ^^) television, I had the issue of the gray band that wouldn’t go away..
After numerous searches online (ps: the Sony website provides no information), I ended up doing a Factory Reset

So:
Menu/Settings/Adjustments/Factory Reset

It erases all the settings, but the bar disappears properly

That’s it!

Sony is experiencing a loss of quality; I also have 2 bars that are always present, one on the left in green... vertical, and one at the bottom of the screen from time to time...
Sony seems to say that this is normal; I have a Sony Bravia 40PC, model KDL-40VE5.
I will pursue them................
Sony has become low-end, even crap....... compared to its competitors.

You just need to press the i+ button on the remote control.

I found something! The black banner will always be there when you switch sources and when you exit a settings menu on the TV, but it will stop appearing with each window switch.

- Press the "home" button on the remote
- Scroll all the way down and press "settings"
- Do not press "system settings" but "customer support" below
- Go down one level and click on "external inputs"/"show audio/video presets"
- There, replace all the "always" with "auto"
