Loss of picture on Samsung LE26R7 LCD TV

Question

Hello,

I have a Samsung LE26R7 LCD TV, it was working perfectly until today. But suddenly, while watching (DVD or TV), I no longer have an image (the sound is fine).
I turn it off and on again, I then have the image back, but it disappears again after a few moments.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem?

same problem... on the LE40A568 .... it starts from the left corner very slowly;.. I've tried turning the TV off and on again but it continues until it reaches the middle of the screen and "interference like a black line" then I turn it off and on again and it works until the next day.....

any feedback from customer service...

can we demand a hardware replacement? considering the TV is 8 months old?

Hi,

I'm experiencing the same issue with my SAMSUNG LCD TV LE40A568.

At times, without any warning, the screen goes completely black but the sound works.

No image but sound. Disconnecting the SCART cable sometimes restores the image, but not consistently.

I was thinking about possibly updating the TV's software?

If anyone can advise me...

I've been having the same issue where the picture disappears only when I'm watching TV for the past 3 weeks,
I've never lost the picture while watching a DVD.
I have a Samsung LCD TV LE37A568.
I'm taking it to the repair service today and I'll keep you posted on what happens.

I also have a series 4 LCD and the image goes black, I still have sound but it only happens on the TNT channels.

It's unlikely we'll exchange, but how is it that your after-sales service is not able to help you?? They have been trained and power supplies can be repaired or, more importantly, quickly exchanged before the model changes because that’s what happens quickly: the model changes and there are no complete modules available for exchange, and they need to (know how to) repair them. It's unacceptable; there are pages full of people dissatisfied with Samsung and no one is doing anything, it's shameful! I worked for twenty years in "after-sales service" and if I had worked like that, I would have been fired on the spot!

Oh dear... lol I prefer to ask questions first before calling them... I don't really like bothering them knowing that my issue is occasional but certainly recurring... apparently the top left corner is black after a stop of less than 6 hours compared to the last time I watched TV... then after a while it gets bigger... and then, as if by magic, it disappears... so I hesitate to call customer service for an intermittent issue...

but I'll do it...

so I can then tell you how their after-sales service works... and if they are competent...

What I was saying is the urgency to have it repaired effectively, firstly because it's under warranty and fortunately so, because otherwise they would have brushed you off. Warranty means free intervention and finally for you to understand well, spare parts are becoming rare just like the repair technicians who know how to fix Samsung, so there is urgency and it's for your own good...

The customer service is absolutely terrible. It shouldn't take that long to fix your TV! A friendly piece of advice: get it repaired quickly and get rid of that brand; it's nothing but trouble.

Hi,

So, on Friday I also lost the picture on my le32r86bdx, sound was OK.
I immediately called Samsung customer service, and today Wednesday, the technician came to my house, he "fixed" my LCD (actually he changed the screen, the motherboard, and the power supply, everything really!!!).

And there you go, it works.

That said, this is my second le32r86bdx, the first one after a year and a half had dead pixels, customer service replaced it with a new one, the one that broke down on Friday was from February 2008.........

after all these troubles, will you remain loyal to a brand with such waste?
Kudos to the repairman who changes the "total" motherboard and power supply; he better hope he doesn't work in the automotive industry.
PS elsewhere and in another time, he would have faced "the report", you know what I mean?
Good luck and above all, don't pursue this path too much because it could be dangerous for the budget after the warranty

Not at all disappointed with my half-career in customer service; it was a different era with respect for customers. The formal instruction to "satisfy" the customer, and although I had a brief stint in mass retail where quality is not always prioritized for low prices, there was feedback coming through quality services, and I can affirm that if a manufacturer was not satisfactory, well, they would be shown the door.
Today, we are selling far too expensive mediocre Korean products whose manufacturing changes constantly; there are no spare parts in stock for years, it costs too much, it's money that sits idle. Also, a two-year-old TV that is already at the end of its lifespan should be easily replaceable because it would cost half of what it is sold for. It is curious to note that despite all this, there are Asian brands that "hold their ground" along the way. There it is, said, and in parentheses, and not renouncing my past, I wouldn't want to be in the shoes of a young technician starting out today for anything in the world.

Those who visit this forum expect detailed answers, especially when we have the chance to have a former technician. What do we do then if the TV is no longer under warranty because we don’t care about after-sales service? My problem is that a DV3 LCD has an image that disappears and then freezes, but the sound and the remote functions remain okay. On another forum, and on a model I don’t know, they talk about swollen power supply capacitors (C12, etc.) that need to be changed; but what does that correspond to on Samsung?

Defective soldering / then replacement of the panel (yes yes!) then replacement of the main power supply and now replacement of the screen power supply..and yet this Saturday.....BAM! same problem...I'm going back to Cora on Monday...No way to find info online that would confirm it’s better to change the model...or even the brand

Hello, the problem comes from your inverter board that powers your neon lights. You can change it yourself and find it on websites for LCD TV spare parts. GOOD LUCK

I have the same problem too. A year ago, my 102 cm SAMSUNG LCD screen (bought in 2008) turns off by itself after a few minutes, so I contact customer service who replaces all the cards inside the screen but with used parts (yes, it seems that this is the way samsung's customer service operates: classy) then a new failure after a few days: one of the HDMI outputs doesn't work. So the technician comes back and changes another card and leaves. Then a few days later, the sound of the screen becomes increasingly dull, we call customer service again, a technician comes and replaces another card and hallelujah the screen works....
But today, after a while, there's no image on the lower half of the screen.... A dead screen after 3 years with a malfunction after two years. A screen that cost 1500 euros back then.... LONG LIVE SAMSUNG (at the same time, I bought an 81 cm TOSHIBA plasma screen, the cheapest at Conforama, no problems with it: something to think about...)

I have the same problem, and as some have pointed out, it’s not a fan issue. I found the part that’s malfunctioning, but I don’t know what it’s called; it’s a small black box on the motherboard. I’m looking for someone who could tell me the name of this part so I can try to find it online.

I just had the same problem with my Samsung TV: the screen goes black after a few minutes but the sound works.

But unlike other testimonials, my TV is from 2008 (over 7 years old now) and it has been moved at least 4 times, so I just wanted to point out that for a sh*t brand like many seem to think, I am actually quite satisfied with the lifespan of my Samsung product and I'm even thinking of buying another TV from the brand since this one is definitely out of warranty and I don’t feel like repairing it.

P.S.: Even though at one time a lifespan of 7 years might have seemed trivial, today, given the technologies and issues that other users are facing, it seems more than respectable to me.
