Refund/Store Credit Refusal - Ring €179

Hello,

I bought a ring for an amount of 179 euros.

I returned it the same day to the Donjon jewelry store (Orléans) because it didn't suit me.

The saleswoman told me that she would not be able to offer me a credit note, let alone a refund.
Only an exchange was possible.

Is this correct?
Can one demand a refund or at least a credit note?

    What are the conditions of your purchase?

    If you went to a store, bought an item, you have no recourse, the law is against you, you cannot demand anything.
    If the store offers you an exchange, it's out of kindness but in no case is it an obligation!

      I see that I have little chance of hoping for anything more than a simple exchange... it's a shame.

    It's not true, I myself ordered an item online, they said the item I bought was no longer available. I requested a refund and boom, I got the refund check. As for your case, they are obliged to give you a credit note of the exact value, even if you have to sell it to someone interested. They have to give you something in return.
    Keep bothering them and don’t keep quiet, it's the only way it works.

      Yet another great illiterate who knows everything!!! After decoding this gibberish, indeed, websites commit to refunding in case of disappointment; this is not a reflection of the law but a commercial practice. And on top of that, since the product is not available, the site had one thing to do: refund...
