Hello, I have a problem with my Toshiba laptop. After disassembling it to change the BIOS battery, it won’t start anymore and the power indicator just blinks orange (on battery or mains)... does anyone have an idea, please?
Thank you in advance.

Before changing the inverter, test it on an external monitor (fn+F5), but otherwise a classic technique:
  • disconnect the battery,
  • press power to discharge the motherboard,
  • plug in the power supply,
  • reconnect the battery and here’s the little secret: hold down the BACKSPACE key for five full minutes

turn it on... bingo the laptop works, well I had both issues, my inverter is dead too but it works perfectly on an external monitor

enjoy,

Hello, I have a Toshiba A100-788 and my problem is that my battery wouldn’t charge anymore, so I had to keep it plugged in to use it. It was fine until one morning when it wouldn’t turn on at all (screen, charge indicator, power...) nothing at all, so to figure out what was wrong, I took it to a repair shop, and they told me that the motherboard was dead. Despite that, I was looking for someone who had the same symptoms as me on these forums and I must say your solution is great because my indicators came back on, but... when I pressed power, it turned on for 2 seconds then turned off again. I tried the procedure again and the indicators lit up again, including the one for the battery charge. I thought maybe I should let it charge a bit, but no, everything turned off again, no luck. Do you have a more suitable solution for me than buying a motherboard? Thank you.
