Emule Configuration
Hello,
For occasional use I would like to reuse Emule, long put aside at the bottom of a hard drive.
I tried to reconfigure it with my Livebox 5 but I only get yellow arrows...
Is there a configuration guide and also for the Box?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
if you’re lucky enough to have a box that isn’t behind a CGNat, where there’s not much you can do if the ISP hasn’t implemented PCP, but with a lbx you’re still fairly safe for now (not too much public IPv4 shared yet, unlike others).
It’s always the same principle:
either use UPnP on the box, or do it manually:
a fixed local IPv4 on the PC.
note the configured emule port and set it up as port forwarding in the box to the PC’s address, on lbx, if the PC is on DHCP, it’s the name that’s used.
I don’t know if the old mule handles IPv6, but it’s better with IPv6; you then need to configure the box’s IPv6 firewall to allow the mule’s port.
And there you go, that’s it ….
But damn, how annoying the line breaks are!! -
Ouch! Stop the fire!
By the second line I was lost... In my previous message, I forgot to mention that my knowledge of IT is close to the cube root of 0... So CGNat, ipv4, etc. are Hebrew to me.
I manage to get by when someone tells me to click here and write this in that place, but it doesn't go much further...
Sorry.

Yes, it happens often, a good opportunity to learn if you want to play that game.
Clicking in YouTube tutorial mode is a method that trends downward, so we can go step by step if you are diligent on this forum, therefore, start with the first line.
The pile of technical terms thrown is deliberate to make you start a useful search on your preferred search engine or zozo AI.
