Reset a Samsung remote control.

Solved
Good evening,
For a few hours now, I’ve realized that the remote control for my Samsung TV is malfunctioning. I have indeed tried changing the batteries. When I press the buttons on the remote, the red LED on the TV flashes, but it does not perform the desired action; only the sound controls work. I find this quite strange, and I would like to know if you have any idea about this issue.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,

  1. Problem solved. I simply changed the batteries and pressed the "Reset" button for three seconds. It is indeed very likely that the issue stemmed from that, poupougne13, given that I remembered a friend of mine had sat on the "end" of the remote control and thus must have accidentally triggered it. At first, I thought it was a shock to the remote control due to its "squeezing," but it seems that your proposed solution is indeed correct... Thank you very much for everything anyway, hoping this can help others in difficulty!

    3. I have a Samsung Series 4 television and for the past two weeks, my remote control has not been working. I have even tried to change channels manually using the buttons on the TV but nothing works. The only button that works is the Power/Off button, so I really need your help as soon as possible.
      Thank you for your assistance.
    4. Re...

First, try your command by looking at the beam through a camera or mobile phone screen in photo mode, to see if it emits with each button or not... then, check if you are indeed on TV at the top, and not DVD, CABLE or anything else.....

    5. same problem as G-master.
Except that the buttons on my remote are swapped: the off button brings up the menu, while the menu button changes the source.
That's probably why the remote seems to be malfunctioning.
      Thank you for your help.
