TOSHIBA D-VR60DT DVD Recorder Player

Hello,
I am new here. I recently bought a Toshiba recorder TOSHIBA D-VR60DT. I can easily copy a tape to a DVD, it's very simple, but when I try to play the DVD on another player, it doesn't work. No issues with the Toshiba, but nothing on the others. If anyone could give me a tip, that would be nice.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

    Good evening...

    You need to "finalize" your CD or DVD after recording in order to read it elsewhere...
    It should be located in the "disk management" menu, or "library"...
    You can then, if necessary, cancel the finalization if it's a RW and if you want to record something else in its place...

      Can you tell me what you think about the quality of the conversions from VHS tape to DVD? Is the digitization correct?

        Personally, I bought it when my old cassette recorder gave up the ghost after 2 years and 3 days (so 3 days after the warranty ended!) and I am not disappointed, except for the unreadable display unless you are directly in front of it, the combo sensor in relation to the remote control is not easy, and finally the very high consumption of the product. Otherwise, the rest is perfect.

        I have had it for several months and no issues, it even has dual audio/video output (I set the combo on 2 screens, one via RCA and the other via HDMI, and on both screens, I have image and sound), which is not common in all devices.

        The 1080p upscaling is perfect for 576i RCA, but for HDMI, it's average because it actually upscales so well in RCA that when switching to HDMI 1080p, you don't really notice much difference, and next to a Blu-ray, the quality is really minimal (and I have a 42" screen as the main display).

        So far, it plays all audio/video files and even the photos in full resolution from my DSLR (whereas often, to read photos, you have to lower the quality... not here, it reads all the photos just fine).

        The image and sound are perfect.

        The only complaint I have (and I already mentioned this last June) is that the front display is inside the combo and not directly on the front, resulting in the sensor and display being inconvenient. That's its only flaw, apart from its high power consumption.

        We'll see in the years to come.

    Could you please explain to me how you were able to record your VHS onto DVD? I'm having a little problem and I can't seem to do it.

      I have the same problem. I lost the manual and I don't know how to copy a cassette to a DVD.

        Well, you can find the manual on the Toshiba website, otherwise it's simple: you insert a VHS tape, you insert a DVD, you press the VHS > DVD copy button and wait for it to finish. Now, it shouldn't be a pre-recorded VHS tape from the store because if there's copy protection, it won't work.

      At Toshiba, it's possible but not personally. You need to go to an authorized repairer who will be able to do it (the cover needs to be opened). It costs around thirty euros and it's unlocked. However, be cautious with the repairer, as if they do it poorly, it could void the warranty.

      Most definitely, we can do it ourselves at the risk of voiding the warranty if the manipulation doesn't work or goes wrong, but here, at Toshiba, at least for this model, it is necessary, as with some consoles, to remove a component inside to unlock it and then perform a manipulation.
