Hello,
does anyone know how to put their own music in the game?
And I see there's also a Video folder, can we put something there?
Thank you

You can select your favorite tracks to be played on the Independence FM radio station in the game.
Simply place your shortcuts to your music folders or your DRM-free files (in MP3, WMA, or M4A format) in the following directory:
My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\User Music
Note: Quicktime or iTunes must be installed for M4A format support.
Once connected to Independence FM, like with any other station, you have the following options from the Audio tab in the pause menu:
Scan modes
Enable auto scan: you can turn this option on or off (default). If enabled, the software performs a quick scan of files upon game startup.
Quick scan: plays only the audio files in your directory, exactly in the order they are located.
Full scan: plays the audio files in your directory and performs more thorough scans to enhance user experience.
Playback modes
In order: plays audio files in the order of the directory, you can skip to the next or previous song.
Random: plays audio files randomly, you can skip to the next or previous song.
Radio: plays audio files randomly, interspersed with DJ commentary and commercials. Skipping songs is not possible.

then in the game, options, sound, full scan, then select independence FM, and listen to your tracks....

Independence FM || Music Problem
You need to place your music in [ MP3, WAV, M4A ] format under
XP: Start, My Documents, Rockstar Games, GTA IV, UserMusic
VISTA / 7: Start, Documents, Rockstar Games, GTA IV, UserMusic
Then launch GTA IV, go to the sound tab in the options, set it to automatic detection mode (auto scan), and restart the game.
In my opinion, it should be like this; that's what I did and it works wonders. I change the music with "B" and "N".
Best regards, Toni

Hello!
Thanks for the music advice!
I have another question about the video editor.
We can add music, make transitions, put in text, effects... But can we cut our videos???
It would be quite useful for me because I find the capture system (with the F2 key) extremely useless. Yes, we don't decide what we capture; the game itself decides what will be recorded after activating the F2 key. It’s annoying because the game captures a video that is way too long... Or sometimes, at the wrong moments...
So, if someone had a way to cut the videos... that would be helpful.
ALSO: I saw written in the GTA booklet that it was possible to deactivate the F2 function (which is useless) and to start a video capture by pressing one key and to finish the capture by pressing another key...
(A bit like the GameCam system)
Except that I've looked everywhere, but I can't see how to do it.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, you can cut your videos by going to the video editor, then clicking on the editor tab and selecting "create new." You drag your clip into the box on the right, once it's in the box on the right, double click on your clip....
...A little loading...
...In the video progress bar at the top, simply move the two buttons located at the far right and left ends of the bar to trim the beginning or end of your video.

I do all of this, but I don't have "user music"? Do I have to create that folder myself? That’s so annoying, damn it!! Explain it to me clearly!!
And it's supposed to work the same way for Episode from Liberty City?
Since in the folder dedicated to it... There is only "Video" but no "User Music".
I should understand that even if I place my music in GTA IV, it will be played in EfLC?

Thank you Pedrus for your advice!
It’s exactly what I needed, well I will try that as soon as I play GTA IV.
Otherwise, you recommended Fraps to me, but I think that software is paid, right?
Thank you all.
