GTA 4 PC: Endless loading...

Hello,

I installed GTA IV at the beginning of the weekend and I still can't solve my problem. When I start the game, it works and once I begin the solo mode, a loading screen appears with a scrolling of images. The problem is that this loading is endless... do you have any idea how to make it work?
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.4

Hi. I'm starting the game, I hit start and now I'm still waiting with these images that soon I won't be able to stand anymore... The music stops after a while. Is there anyone to help me/us please?
Thank you in advance!

Yes, it's annoying... I tried to install the new drivers for my graphics card designed to fix bugs in GTA IV, still not working...

No, there really is nothing to do except wait always and again for that damn patch, hoping it fixes the problem (which is not taken for granted, coming from them). It would hurt me to have spent 50€ for nothing =)
If it's the same problem as on the PS3, it might come from the server at Rockstar, which being overloaded, would cause the loading time to crash (because during loading screens, the game apparently connects there to retrieve some information whose usefulness I do not yet know, except for online saves), but if that were the case, one might think that playing offline would solve this issue, which apparently only works on PS3 and not on PC.

So disable the mode to edit your videos when you press F2, do you see?

Hello !!

So I have a problem with GTA 4 (by the way, it's not the first one ;) ) when I try to load a game in single player or multiplayer mode, the loading starts but I wait 10 minutes and nothing happens, so if you could help me out this time that would be cool !!

I can't help you at all except to say that I have the same issue as you, and even after reinstalling and repairing the game, the problem persists :x

Wait and see the upcoming patch from RockStar...

Hi, I know that GTA 4 is a pain because I have a problem with starting the game, but a patch exists, download it and try again. GOOD LUCK

Here is the translation: "I have pretty much the same problem
but when I launch multiplayer mode
the loading never finishes and even better
also when I quit the game?
I still have a GT 9400 card, it's not nothing, on the box the minimum is 7900

Rockstar really did it with the game and I’m paying for it on Xbox
but we understand why!!"

Just launch the RockStar GameClub, I think, then play GTA 4 for it to show you that an update is available... I hope this time the issue really comes from a server overload on their side lol!

By the way, during the loading screen, does your music also stop after a while? On my end, it's better; it lasts a little longer and the images stutter, which seems to indicate that the game is loading, but nothing changes =).

Well, I'm still in the same mess as you... the images are still scrolling and the music stops for a moment like before... nothing has really changed, I'm losing hope...

I may have an idea for you, but reinstall the game and check if the problem persists. Good luck!

Hello, I also have the same issue with loading missions in the career mode. I have it on PC, I have the latest update for the Social Club of GTA 4 and the Games for Windows Live installer, but there's still the bug where the loading takes forever. How can I resolve this time loss please? Thank you for your help and responses. See you later.

I may have your solution. In any case, it has been mine.

If you have an AMD processor, install the processor drivers. You can find them here:

Now the problem is that I can't play because I don't have enough resources even when I lower my settings to the max and the graphics are terrible!!! So I would need to buy a RAM stick and a better graphics card even though I bought them before the game, so now I don't know what to do!!! I think I'm going to shoot myself or pull my hair out by banging my head against my computer and eating the CD ^^ but if you have a solution regarding the resource problem and if the solution is not to buy a graphics card or a RAM stick, I'm open to it!!!

I have the same problem and I have an Nvidia Geforce 8800GT, could it come from that? Otherwise, I have had this problem since I switched to Windows 7; before, I didn't have this long loading issue on Windows XP.
Any solutions?

Bah moi, j'ai beau réfléchir, mais je pense que tu devrais t'acheter une autre console. Je pense, enfin je pense.
