Hello,
It doesn't seem possible to create a shortcut from the desktop to the calculator.
However, direct access to the calculator is convenient.
Here is an unprecedented and ultra-simple solution: the calculator can be made available on the desktop by selecting it from the accessories menu and dragging it to the desktop.
Best regards!

Good evening,
To create a shortcut for the calculator on the desktop:
- Right-click on the desktop and choose New > Shortcut from the dropdown menu.
- The Create Shortcut window will open.
- In the Type the location of the item box, enter %SystemRoot%\system32\calc.exe
- Click Next then Finish.
Now the way you used is just as valid.
Have a good evening.

Good evening,
Your technique is more than mediocre; by doing it this way, the calculator permanently disappears from the Accessories menu, which is its original location.
It’s better to create a shortcut (right-click on Calculator in Accessories) and drag that shortcut to the desktop.
Ah, the clock has killed me; my answer was directed at GUY NICOLAS's post and not at G...'s response.
