Hello,
I installed Undercover yesterday and XP is giving me an error and the game won't start,
Direct X is up to date as well as XP and all the drivers.
Here is my configuration:
Intel Core Duo 2.2GHz overclocked to 2.6GHz
GPU: Leadtek WinFast PX8800GT 512 MB
Motherboard: Asus P5N-E SLI
HDD IDE 7200 RPM 250GB divided into 2 equal partitions, 84 GB free space on the game partition
PSU: Antec Neo 550W
Could you please tell me the steps to follow, thank you.

You do:
Workstation > Program files > EA Games > Need For Speed Undercover and paste the DLL file there, it will ask you if you want to replace it normally.

Things change and evolve, only the human being remains unchanged... -
Don't waste your time trying to install it, go sell it right away, or get a refund, it's a piece of crap game. As a fan of NFS, I'd rather play M.C.L.A. in this case!!!!
-
It's just a small file that needs to be changed, not a folder.
What did you replace??

Ah okay, and it doesn't work... I did it, and it worked. It doesn't want to start with the CD in the drive???
If you put the CD in the drive, do the autorun, and then "Play", nothing happens??

xp indicates an error
What is this error?? Well, I can't help you any further, it was the only solution I had on hand.
I'll try to look for it tomorrow ;-)

No problem GG001, I will return the game to Amazon, it’s not an issue, thank you for your help anyway
and this is not my first problem with the NFS, with Carbon I can’t connect to EA despite it being original and I installed the patch, I will look for another game, can you recommend a game that is similar?

Hmm, every problem has its solution, but oh well, never mind. I'll still look for it out of curiosity. (You're not missing much with NFS, as disappointing as the last two I find)
Otherwise, as far as car games that are similar, I don't think there are any, there will be Juiced 2, which is not too bad, the only problem is that you have to play with the keyboard, it doesn't accept controllers..
As for good car games, Race Driver GRID is visually stunning, and the online is incredible, racing against others on a track, or doing drift duels, excellent (that's my point of view). However, there are no vehicle customizations, neither visual nor performance, you just switch cars if you want a more powerful one...

Alright, and thank you for everything. See you later on the forum. You're right, Carbon, I finished it in 3 days without playing all day. Most Wanted was better; it's a shame they didn't keep the same spirit while improving the interface and the races. But, well, I'll switch to another game and maybe I'll try Grid. Bye, and good luck. Best regards, Francky.

I have the same problem with Need for Speed. When I click on the "logo," it opens a small window and nothing happens. I tried to do what you said
but it doesn't tell me to replace the file.-
Listen, I had the same problem with the game I bought... I downloaded NFS Undercover on uTorrent and replaced the file nfs undercover.exe and it worked... If someone could create a link, that would be great. I thought I saw that there are many of us having this problem and I couldn't find an answer on the net!

Good evening, my problem is still not resolved and I am not downloading on uTorrent.

Hi, all paule.dll has registered your game on the net but your problem is (nfs.exe encountered a problem... etc) have you updated your graphics card driver! And it’s done ;) otherwise format your PC xD (it works every time ;) ) see you!

Good evening, I have the same problem but not right away; actually, I launch the game after installing it 1, 2, 3 times, and it's fine, but after a while, it starts acting up and shows an error with nfs.exe, both with the original and a cracked version. It’s not my config since it takes a lot to slow down my PC.
Phenom II x4 Black Edition 3GHz, overclocked to 3.5GHz / 4GB of RAM / ATI 4870 1GB OC
All drivers are up to date, especially the ATI (v9.9 from September 2009).
I’m running Windows 7 Ultimate 64, and this is the first game that has issues like this.
I’ve been running the game on very high settings (1920/1200 and everything maxed out).
As for the Paul.dll, I’ve removed it, replaced it, put the original back... nothing works, the game doesn't launch anymore.
So I’m open to any solutions as long as I can play.
(Other games on this PC work perfectly: Dead Space, Pro Street, Carbon, Crysis, Prototype, Oblivion...) -
It works very well by putting the file paul in the nfs undercover as mentioned above, no worries gg^^

- Hello,
I also have a problem with NFS Undercover. I bought it last year and it worked very well on my previous PCs (I've changed PCs 3 times in 2 years), and today, I wanted to install it on my brand new PC, everything went smoothly until I was told that the license associated with the game can no longer be used because the number of installations on different PCs has been exceeded and that I need to purchase another one. So I can no longer play it.
Does anyone know a solution (without buying a new license, of course)?
Thanks in advance.

The game works after I changed my IDE hard drive to a SATA 2, curious but
at least it works, I finished the game and it is full of truly unpleasant bugs.

Hi,
I agree quite a bit with Tribal88, I was quite disappointed. Is it the original that you have?? What does this error indicate, what exactly is happening??
