Hello everyone.
I am reaching out to this forum for help with Far Cry because I can't seem to set up a network, or more specifically, LAN gaming over the Internet.
I am using Hamachi and it works very well. It creates a virtual network for the computers which allows me to play as if I were on a LAN, but with Far Cry, it doesn't work. I get the message: "LAN servers are limited to LAN IP addresses."
I don't understand this message and I suspect that Hamachi is causing this issue because it assigns an IP address in 5.XX.XX.XX.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem? If so, that would be really nice because playing multiplayer alone is not cool!!!!

Hello,
given the number of interested people, I've uploaded the file to my personal website:
http://www.in-the-batcave.fr/fichiers/farcry/patches/localipfix_1.33.exe
Note: I recently downloaded this file from this forum, and I haven't tried it yet. I don't know if it works with patch 1.4.-
I confirm that it doesn’t work with patch 1.4 because this patch modifies a dll, and it must be a specific version for the patch to work; otherwise, it gives an error message.
I had version 1.33 but not the correct build, so it wouldn’t work. I reinstalled patch 1.32 and then 1.33 that I found online, and it worked on the first try.
Good to know, cheers!!!

So, no one has any ideas?
That would be cool. Thanks in advance. -
I solved my problem thanks to a patch that seems to be unavailable on the Internet. It's a guy who gave it to me via MSN. See you.

I also think it's due to the Hamachi address 5.xxx.xxx.xxx, which is a Class C address, therefore an routable Internet address.
Similarly for BF2: it's okay with Hamachi, but you need to allow BF2 to access the Internet at the firewall level (in my case: Zonealarm), even though we are playing LAN through Hamachi. The Class C address is, once again, to blame. I published a page about Hamachi on my website (dedicated to network games with my friends): www.in-the-batcave.fr/vpn.php -
Hello, I have the same problem with Far Cry and Hamachi.
Could you please send me the patch? Here is my email address:

Thank you in advance. -

Salut, je voudrais savoir un renseignement. Nous sommes trois amis qui habitons assez éloignés, et nous souhaiterions jouer à Far Cry en réseau. Est-ce possible et quel programme utiliser ? Merci de ta réponse.

your LAN IP address is the one you have on Hamachi... the IP address in 5.xx.xx.xx... is your LAN address ;)
otherwise, create a server using this address... -
Hello, I am also interested in the patch! Is there someone who can send it to me please? Here is my address: fifou-34@hotmail.fr
Thank you in advance. -

Hello,
As I mentioned in my post, I've put the file up for download, but I don't have a miracle solution... the file replaces the crynetwork.dll with another one. With FarCry 1.4 it doesn’t work, the dedicated server crashes on an unrecoverable exception. On the Hamachi forums, they have removed entries related to FarCry: see the FarCry entry on the page https://forums.hamachi.cc/viewtopic.php?t=180.
If anyone has a solution for FarCry 1.4, I’m all ears!
I’ve turned to BF2: check out my site www.in-the-batcave.fr
