TI83+ Graphing Calculator and Black Screen

Hello,
I don't know if I'm posting the message in the right place.. but here I go:
I just changed the batteries of my calculator (the LR03).
Since then,
when I turn my calculator back on, it shows a black screen...
- I tried resetting it --> no result.
- I tried adjusting the contrast or brightness --> no result.

I haven't changed the round flat battery yet, but maybe it's not necessary?!

Have you ever had this problem?
How can I fix this?

PS: like many students in scientific training... I feel lost without my calculator!

    hi,

    actually, I bought a second-hand TI 83 on leboncoin, because I couldn't get mine working again, even after changing the batteries and doing a bunch of manipulations that turned out to be useless.

      It's Chantal. I changed the 4 batteries plus the round one. I pressed clear and I thought I saw a background screen, but it didn't last. SOS URGENT.

      nothing to do but pay the €90 to buy a really nice one... day before the exam. Fuuuu..... !

      Thank you very much, I did the same, except that my solution was three old batteries and one new one (!). It works perfectly now!!

    "I had the same problem, after trying everything I finally found the solution: you should not put all 4 new batteries in at the same time (maybe because they are too charged and therefore too powerful for the calculator) so you need to mix the new batteries with an old already discharged one."

    Hi,

    I had the same issue, I removed the 4 batteries plus the flat battery and everything works again. But the only downside is that all your programs are erased.

    I have this problem too; I've changed everything and done a long and short reset, but nothing works, I still have a black screen (and I've tried adjusting the contrast). What can I do???
