Error 80020148 game startup failed

Hello,
actually it's a problem I've encountered before... with a game that I couldn't launch on my PSP and I went into the system to fiddle a bit (like enabling the no-umd function instead of disabling it)

Except that now it's the firmware 4.01 M33-2 that I can't install because it gives me "Game cannot start (80020148) ... I would like to know if someone knows how to work around the problem.

Thanks in advance
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

No need to format the Flash 1, it's a last resort.

From the Recovery or the secret menu of CF M33 (by pressing SELECT when you're on the XMB), set the No UMD mode to SONY NP9660.

I don't see what the secret menu of custom firmware M33 is because I don't see what the XMB is
and when I'm in recovery I can't set the USB mode to Sony NP9660 since I can only set the option to disabled or enabled every time.

The XMB is simply the menu of the PSP (its interface). This is where you have Settings, Music, Photo, Video, Game, and Network.

I thank you for the time you take to respond to me but I'm going to bother you a little more...

Nothing happens when I press "select" while I'm on the "XMB" :(

Let me explain a bit more in detail:

I was on 3.40 OEA ==> I downloaded the CF 3.52 with the 3.52 CREATOR ===> then I downloaded the firmware 4.01 M33-2 ===> I copied all the folders to my PC ===> I formatted my memory stick ===> I could get the 3.52 and the 3.52 CREATOR ===> and when I try to install the 4.01 M33-2 it says "Game cannot be started (80020148)

I hope these additional details will help find the solution to the problem.

Can you tell me what firmware your PSP is on?

Is it still on 3.40 OE-A?

That will help me understand.

yes, it is still at 3.40 OE-A

when I downloaded the firmware 3.52 M33 RTU and 4.01 M33-2 ... I directed the copied files from the archives directly to the psp ... but now I can't update my psp to the firmware 4.01 with the M33-2

Turn on the PSP, once in the main menu, press SELECT to access the VSH menu.
In the line UMD ISO mode, set it to SONY NP 9660 (all of this using the arrow keys).
Once finished, press SELECT again.

Hi.
I’ve done everything you told me to do but it doesn’t change anything (still the same error message: 80020148).
I have plenty of games that work very well but one or two are bugged.

I don’t know what to do anymore!

P.S. : I have version 5.00 M33-3

Thanks in advance

* Turn off the PSP by pushing the Power button up for 6 seconds (or remove the battery from its slot, then reinsert it).
* Turn on the PSP while holding the R trigger to access Recovery Mode.
* A menu appears (Selection in red - Background in black).
* Choose "Advanced", then "Format flash1 and reset settings".

Well, whatever I do, I have a blue background with the functions in white and the function selection in dark blue
and when I go to advanced, I have

advanced configuration
Toggle USB (flash0)
Toggle USB (flash1)

I can't access recovery mode even when I completely turn it off and then while turning it back on, I keep holding down R.

Hello, I wanted to know if formatting the flash 1 "deflashes" the PSP ????

You cannot access the "Recovery" on the PSP without the CF... Or if you can, could you please tell me how?

Thank you

Hello
you need to turn off your PSP completely and then turn it back on by holding down the R button to access the GEN recovery menu
go to "advanced" then to "advanced configuration"
and you need to set "plain modules in umd/iso" and the one just below it "execute boot.bin in umd/iso" to disabled mode then you need to exit the GEN recovery menu and you should normally be on the normal menu of your PSP
press select and set "umd iso mode" to either sony np9660 or m33 driver

You need to be on 5.50genB-2 to play it, and moreover, the game must have a fix for firmware 5.55.

With the psp, you can do everything... even more!!!!!!!!!!

It's normal, you're on version 6.20^^ The only advice I can give you is to wait and inform yourself about psp gen =)
