Intel UNDI PXE-2.0 Error (build 082)

Hello,

When I turn on my Acer Aspiro 5100 laptop, I get a continuous black screen error message that says:

Intel UNDI PXE-2.0 (build 082)

For Realtek RTL 8139(X)/8130/810X FAST ETHERNET CONTROLLER v2.13 (020326)

PXE-E61: Media Test failure check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM

I don't understand what's happening.
Could you please help me?
I don't know much about computers lol!!

    Hi,

    Nothing to worry about, it's the network boot.

    You can disable it in the BIOS, it's often called "network boot" or "PXE boot", set it to disabled.

      I found "Network boot" in the Main menu, it says Enabled and not Enable, is that normal?
      And if I click to change it, it shows disabled instead of disable, is that normal?
      Last question lol: if I set it to disabled, what does that mean??

      (I'm not very good with computers, sorry!!)

      Hello

      I have exactly the same problem as in the first post

      Yes, I know I need to modify the BIOS, but I can't access it (F2) or any other key

      The hard drive is not original (20GB), and I bought an Aspire 5101 second-hand WITHOUT a hard drive (it's not SATA) and wanted to install an OS

      Sometimes the CD starts (manual opening and reboot) begins installation, and at the moment of choosing the partition, the keyboard is INACTIVE AND STAYS ON AN UNFORMATTED AREA OF 8 MB

      THEN THERE'S C/(18GB) which I can't access

      And then another 8MB unformatted

      What should I do???

    Network boot: that's it, it needs to be set to disabled

    So I just set it to Disabled, I pressed F10 to save and exit, the computer rebooted by itself and I see Acer appearing, then a black screen with a little blinking white line at the top left and nothing happens.

    I think there's a problem lol !!

      You have eliminated an annoying but non-blocking error message. There seems to be another issue that could be related to the hard drive of the machine.

      If you haven't touched the boot sequence in the BIOS, you need to contact customer support.

    I don't quite understand your last sentence.

    In the Main section of the BIOS, here’s what it displays:

    System Time: 16:13:10
    System Date: 11/07/2008

    System Memory: 633KB
    Extended Memory: 2047 MB
    Video Memory: 128 MB

    Quiet Boot: Enabled
    Power on Display: [Auto]
    Network Boot: Disabled (which I modified ^^)
    F12 Boot Menu: Disabled
    DeD Recovery: Enabled

    I don’t know if everything is normal?

    Then in the Boot section of the BIOS, which I haven't touched, it shows the following:

    Boot Priority Order:

    1: IDE 0: MATSHITADVD-RAM UJ-850S-(PM
    2: IDE 1: empty
    3: SATA: empty
    4: PCI BEV: empty
    5: USB HDD: empty
    6: USB CDROM: empty
    7: USB FDD: empty
    8: USB KEY: empty

    Is this normal??

    Basically, I'm lost *oops*

    All I can tell you is that I didn't modify this line 2, I hope the hard drive is not dead...

    What I don't understand is that I used my computer until around 2 AM this morning and it was working very well; and when I turned it on, there was this error message.

    Can I do a system restore and if so, 1. will it be useful? and 2. how can I do it??

    I think you will have to contact technical support. System restoration is only possible when you have access to the hard drive...

    Basically, there should be something in 2 or more likely in 3.

    If there is nothing, there are 2 possibilities:
    1) the hard drive is dead and the machine can no longer see it
    2) someone has modified this line
