Hello everyone,
I hope I'm in the right forum...
Here's my problem: my computer screen keeps "jumping", it has interference like static, as if my laptop were right next to me and about to ring... It does this at irregular intervals, more or less strong, whether it's on or off.
My PC is an ACER 5920 (only a month old). I have a Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family card. And I got rid of Vista to install XP instead (I don't know if that has anything to do with it but just in case...).
I've already uninstalled the drivers, done a virus scan, and then reinstalled the drivers without any results.
Finally, Acer's hotline advised me to completely reformat my PC... I must admit that if I could avoid that, it would be great!!
So, if anyone has any ideas, it would be really awesome!
Thanks in advance!

Hello!
I also own this famous 5920g and I've just started experiencing the first symptoms described above. The thing is, these symptoms appeared right after I installed Windows 7. Do you think it's a coincidence or could there be an incompatibility between the laptop and Windows 7?

Hello everyone...
I own an ACER 5920 G
Well, maybe I can provide some answers to some and perhaps solutions for others...
I also experienced horizontal buzzing problems, like some sort of interference that appears very briefly on my screen...
Initially, there were no issues... however, each time I updated the drivers for my graphics card, the buzzing returned..
Recently, I installed Windows 7 and once again, the buzzing came back because Windows automatically updated the drivers for my graphics card...
I managed to overcome the problem by reinstalling the original drivers, that is to say, by installing version
7.15.11.7590, which I downloaded from the ACER download platform...
You can find the page by clicking on the following link

Search for the Acer 5920G by selecting Laptop then Aspire
Download the VGA driver for Nvidia cards to the previously mentioned version..
Don't forget to uninstall the old one before reinstalling the new one...
For me, it has always worked with this version on both Vista and Windows 7
There you go
Good luck
PS, I didn't need to open my screen's cover to fiddle with any wires...

Well, I would like to announce that I have an ACER 7730 ZG and I have the same problem, and on top of that, my "i" key is loose! I've had it for a year and a half! So if anyone has found a solution for this "jumping" screen issue, please don't hesitate, and let me know how to reattach my "i" key! Thank you in advance!
Hello,
I have an Acer 7730Z that is a year old and I'm also experiencing screen flickering issues, especially in the morning.
I just opened it more than half an hour ago and I'm not encountering any problems.
I also found that having the screen fully opened resolves the issues, but that's not a solution.
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
I'm still having my screen flickering issue as soon as I open Acer to watch videos.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thank you

Good evening, I have an HP Pavilion dv9000 and sometimes I get these weird blue lines appearing on my laptop screen. Sometimes when I touch the screen the lines disappear, but as soon as I let go, the lines come back. I lay the laptop on the screen and touch a bit here and there, and then it goes back to normal, but sometimes when I put it back in place, it'll be fine for 10-15 minutes and then suddenly it will turn blue again. It's really frustrating, I don’t know what to do, especially since the laptop is essential for me. Please help me.
The problem is very simple, I have a problem
which is a wrong contact for those who don't know it
on Mongalé Street in the 12th arrondissement of Paris
metro Reuilly-Diderot, there are computer repair shops that can fix it for 30 to 70 euros
that's the store, I hope this helps you.

Good evening,
I have a portable computer Aspire 7730z and I have the same problem as you. My screen keeps flickering more and more, and I have to use it almost closed to prevent it from flickering. The only issue is that I have not been under warranty for a while, so I wanted to know if it is possible to fix the problem myself... Thank you in advance for your response.

I'm disgusted; I did the operation
it worked well for 24 hours..
And now, it's starting to come back.
Acer: it's over.

Hello,
I advise you to take your PC to a service center; your cable must be unplugged. It will cost you 30 euros and you won't have any more problems. That's what I just did after a year of trouble, and now everything works perfectly.
As for the ACER brand, you are right; the service center confirmed to me that it is not a good brand.

Have you checked if your cable is damaged? Mine was cut, and since I put electrical tape on it, I haven't had any problems, and when I close it, it doesn't trip again.
I found a little trick when I opened the case; you can see the LCD cable.
What I did was press on it in several places with my finger to figure out where the problem was coming from. At one point, the screen became stable again.
I then wedged a piece of paper to press on the cable between the screen and the case.
For two months now, I haven't had any problems; everything is working correctly.

I think this is more likely due to the hardware than the choice of Windows 7 considering the number of people experiencing this screen flickering issue with the 5920G
But I'm not a specialist!
Good luck
However, down with Acer who doesn't care at all about its customers... ;(
For repairs under warranty... Good luck (I had to wait 6 weeks)... Until next time because they replace it with the same problematic cable...
And we, rightly, become ACERbic!!!
