Hello,

I read your discussion thread about the EPSON T0711-T0714 cartridges. I bought a multifunction printer, the EPSON Stylus OFFICE BX300F. I just ran out of the original black ink cartridge... only a few prints!!!
Following this discussion thread, I ordered empty cartridges online from cartouche-boutique.com and the DURABrite ultra ink from Encre Phoenix.
I received everything quickly, but:
1) I filled the black ink cartridge that I was missing and installed it, then clicked OK for the verification.
Result, the extraordinary cartridge which is recognized as an EPSON T0711, does not work!
2) I called customer service in Germany for explanations. The lady on the phone acknowledged that these cartridges do not work on all printers.
She asked me to perform a maneuver which consists of putting the cartridge "piiiraaate, like on TV" and then turning off the printer. When it restarts, indeed, it recognizes the cartridge but, of course, there’s always a but, moments later it goes back to waiting for a cartridge change. This woman on the phone told me to leave my printer off for at least six hours to completely clear the memory and then change the cartridge again.
Honestly, I don’t believe it much anymore!
My testimony is that IF these cartridges work for some models of EPSON printers, it would be helpful to specify this in the discussion threads... duly noted.
3) I called Encre Phoenix and my contact told me that permanent refill kits for EPSON printers would be arriving soon.

I will see the result of having kept the printer off for six hours, then I will change the cartridge and let you know what happens. If by chance it doesn't work, I will ask for a refund for the set of four cartridges and then I will wait for the permanent refill to appear on the Phoenix site.

Finally, if it does come ;-p, is there a forum member among you on this site who has had the same problem as me with a BX300F and is there a solution, in your opinion, to reset the printer more quickly, please?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

There are several generations of Epson T0711 cartridges... This means that a printer from this range manufactured several months apart will not recognize the same chips.
Why is that? Precisely to try to avoid competition from compatible products, which have to constantly "catch up" with the latest Epson chips. Your supplier should have informed you of this before the sale...
Currently, the compatibles are at the 3rd or 4th generation of T0711 cartridges... by the way, Epson is starting to fall into its own trap: I currently have more returns on Epson brand (unrecognized cartridges) than on compatible ones from my customers.

In your case: you can't do anything with the cartridges you have in your possession; ask your supplier to exchange them for the latest compatible generation; if he is a good merchant, it shouldn't be a problem.

Hello, rather good evening and thank you for your replies.

For Jann, it's true that my contact at cartouches-boutique.com told me over the phone that he would refund my purchase, which is €31.85 excluding delivery fees. It's a commercial gesture that I appreciate. It's true that Epson will be faced with a choice because they must, or rather they should suspect that today with the Web even a novice who rarely uses a printer at first will quickly find a solution for consumables at the best price. Nowadays, it would be better, in my opinion, to sell ink to millions of consumers rather than see those millions of "smart" consumers go elsewhere.
It's a market they are leaving to the competition, good for us and too bad for EPSON.
The "D" system will always work and it works, with the web, at the speed of light!
As for cartouche-boutique.com, they do not have any other compatible cartridges. This is the reason I was also intervening to find a way to reset the printer.

For Sussi, thank you for the link but I couldn't find the reference for my printer by consulting this site.

I contacted encre Phoenix and they would have a new system to propose.

I will keep you regularly updated.

Hello,

I'm still struggling with my Epson BX300F printer!

I bought a reprogrammer from EncrePhoenix for Epson T07 original cartridges, and when the cartridge was almost empty, I did what it said on the website. First, I reset it, then made two small holes, filled the cartridge, and put it back in place.... but it still doesn't work!!!

Does anyone have an explanation, please?

Thank you

François

Hello François 3412,

I just noticed on the site that to reprogram the cartridge, there must be at least 25% ink left in it, otherwise it won't work anymore.
I think your problem comes from that.

I also have a problem with the Epson printer, BX300F.
The message "ink cartridge empty" keeps appearing.
The Epson technician tells me he doesn't understand and that I'm the only one experiencing this issue; he has already replaced the printer for me once, and with the new one, I have the same problem.
I talked to Cartridge World, my cartridge seller. They told me:
- that the cartridges contain very little ink, 3.5g, and that each time after a period of inactivity, the machine performs a cleaning that consumes ink. For light users like me, the price of the cartridges quickly reaches that of the machine. The solution I am considering is to change printers and permanently abandon Epson<gras>.

I also have the same problem, I can't stand this piece of crap printer anymore! It's going to end up in the trash soon! One piece of advice: don't buy Epson!!!

Mon avis

It has been more than 2 years that I've been struggling with an exhausted ink problem even though I use the printer very, very rarely. The printer even recognizes the new cartridges as empty. Moreover, the ink runs out at lightning speed. NO COMMENT ...

Hello,

A lot has changed since this topic was started.

In particular, we are now at version 6.2 of the refillable cartridge chips. And now, they are perfectly operational. It's simple, I've fixed about twenty EPSON printers and every time the refillable cartridges were recognized.

At the same time, I'm not an expert, since I’ve wrecked five or six printers...

That said, I’ve never seen refillable cartridges not recognized by the model they were designed for. And this is also true for the CANON or BROTHER printers that I have repaired... or wrecked....

Even the very latest compatible refillable cartridges for the EPSON 18 XL from the Pâquerette series (official designation by EPSON) are almost recognized. Almost, because the printer knows they are third-party cartridges, BUT it still uses them.

And at only 50 cents per refill, I can't even tell you the savings!!!!

Also, I don’t see much point in bashing a particular brand. EPSON is at least as respectable a brand as any other (BMW, Ferrari, ....)

Moreover, EPSON is a pioneer in the field of printers originally equipped with continuous ink supply systems. There are no more cartridges, just large ink tanks. I’m talking about the L series: L200 and L800 among others.
Models that have existed for at least two years!!!

And in terms of cost, EPSON has done well: with WICreset, we don’t even need to source ink from EPSON. WICReset makes the printer believe that we've put EPSON ink in the tanks. HELLO SAVINGS!!!

Which other brand offers this kind of solution????

I just wanted to chime in, to put things into perspective and to temper the comments made in this topic. Comments that reflect a certain understandable frustration faced with situations the general public isn’t ready to deal with....

Thank you for allowing me to intervene...

Sincerely to everyone, users of all kinds of printers and all brands.
