Hi everyone.
Thank you very much for your responses on this site.
This morning when I woke up my iPhone 4S was working fine.
But I went out to smoke a cigarette, and it rained.
As a result, a big drop of water fell into the hole where you plug in the earphones.
So my sound was no longer working; it was stuck in headphone mode.
I could call, listen to music, watch videos, and send messages with sound only when the earphones were plugged in. But it didn't work when I took them out; it was stuck.
When I called, the person could hear me but I couldn't hear them.
So what I did was I took a cotton swab and put it in the hole.
This technique didn't work at all because I didn't want to force it too much to avoid breaking the headphone jack.
So I looked up several responses online, and yes, like a loser, I sucked on the headphone jack hole.
That worked very well.

ok I have the same problem
it's not the phone that is broken, it's that Orange restricts the internet connection when you exceed 500MB per month and for some reason you can make calls but you can't hear us or very poorly
the connection is restored again when you are credited with your plan

apparently it means changing the earpiece which is around + or - 65 euros

If your iPhone is new,remove the protective plastic; it's what is cutting the sound.
