Good evening everyone. I have a big problem with my messaging. My Internet provider is ORANGE and my antivirus is the FIREWALL from my operator. My ORANGE messaging is being held hostage by spam... a lot of addresses are being sent to my "blacklist": but it’s starting to get full!!!!! Is there anyone else experiencing the same problem who has been able to find a solution??? Who could give me some advice to resolve this big issue... I thank in advance anyone who would be willing to help me
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.3

Hello makiline,

The first way to get rid of spam is to do it one by one by blocking the addresses of the sites in your messaging. It's tedious, but it can work.

You need to right-click on the spam >> Properties >> Copy/paste the address into your messaging (in Outlook for example, it’s Tools >> Message Rules >> Blocked Senders List). To correctly get the site address, you don’t necessarily have to consider what comes before the @.

You have: From: yyyy@xxxx.com (below to: your name or something similar + your address). The xxxx.com is enough as it will block any name used. Whereas if you take everything, zzzz@xxxx.com might get through.

Then, you need to click on the "Details" tab, then "Message Source". Inside, there is a good chance you will find one or two additional addresses.

I did this, while I was receiving about ten spams a day for some time, and now for a week, nothing (knock on wood...).

Otherwise, the simplest solution is obviously to install anti-spam software. There’s "Spamihilator," "Vade Retro Desktop," "Spamfighter," among the free and most well-known ones. It’s up to you.

Aside from that, a tip to avoid spams: be cautious of "Hoaxes," meaning the messages that need to be forwarded to your friends. Delete them, regardless of the content. In fact, avoid circulating your address indiscriminately.

Well, that's it, I think I've covered the topic. I hope this can help you.

See you later
