Hello,
I just built a PC, everything works well, I just need to install Windows. Luckily, I have an installation CD available. Firstly, I set the first boot device to CD-ROM, everything was fine. At the end of the installation, I restarted and set the first boot device to Hard Disk. It starts the hard disk, I see the Windows XP screen for half a second, then a blue screen with lots of text that disappears instantly, followed by an immediate PC restart oO.
I’ve tried dozens of times, but nothing works. I concluded that the installation failed, okay, no problem, I go into the first boot device and select CD-ROM, and that’s when the drama happens!
No matter how many times I set the 3 boot devices to CD-ROM, the PC insists on starting from the hard disk! Yet, the drive is brand new and works because when I unplug the hard disk, the CD runs perfectly. I concluded either the BIOS is buggy or the hard disk is buggy.
I would like to know if anyone has a solution to this problem, as I really don’t want to buy new components.
Thanks.
