impossible to format my USB drive to NTFS Solved

Question

Hello,
I have a 16 GB USB drive and I want to put files larger than 4 GB on it; it is formatted in FAT32, so that's impossible.
- I tried to format it to NTFS using "convert j: /fs:ntfs", but after 5 minutes I got the message "Unable to notify other components that this volume has been modified."
- I tried right-clicking on j:, formatting (to NTFS), and got an error message after attempting the format...
- Partition Magic doesn't recognize it...

Do you know a solution?

go to "Start" then "Run" and enter the value "cmd". A black window appears. We can therefore begin. Perform the Conversion: CONVERT "drive letter" : /FS:NTFS  p.s: the key must be in FAT32 beforehand.

Thank you, gizzmo-) but there's nothing to be done...

"Optimizing performance" had allowed me to see "ntfs" when I wanted to format by right-clicking on my USB drive (My Computer), whereas I only had FAT32 before, but I get an error message (Windows was unable to complete the format).

Even when trying to format by right-clicking on My Computer / Manage / Disk Management, ntfs is not offered to me.

Yes, in my opinion, that's more the key. I did it on a KINGSTON 8GB and it worked right away!  Is it to put an ISO game?

I finally found a software that formatted my drive to NTFS: Paragon Partition Manager 9.0.
The problem is solved, no returns to sender!

Well, I'm not particularly skilled with "partition magic" and the like, but this one seems very comprehensive; plus it recognizes USB keys (I had a hard time finding one like that).

Unfortunately, it's just a demo, not all the features are accessible unless you purchase it. If you want to give it a try:

Hi Lemoubali.
I can't tell you more than what's in this forum, because in the end I sent my key back to customer service; now everything works very well. So it was probably a key issue.
Just so you know, I didn't try to reformat the new key ;)
