Signature with formatting in Lotus Notes

Hello everyone,

I just changed jobs and now have Lotus Notes which I’m not good at. I have an issue with my signature.

I know how to add one in several ways. The only problem: I can’t keep the formatting.

So I’m opting for an HTML (and/or htm) format, but the signature then appears as source code in the body of my email.

The image solution remains, but it’s not ideal:
- it’s impossible to use hyperlinks
- the email size increases (slightly)
- and above all, Outlook users receive my signature as an attachment!!

So if someone knows how to make my HTML/htm signature not appear as source code, I’m all ears!

Thanks in advance!

Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.3

I found the solution so I’m replying to myself (this may help someone someday).

Actually, you need to create an HTML file with a program like Dreamweaver.
If you create an HTML file by changing the extension of a txt file, for example, Lotus cannot handle the source code, which must be different or altered, I don’t know (a specialist could explain it to you).

Once the file is created, do the usual manipulation, you locate the file in question and that’s it!

      Hello everyone!!

I was in the same situation as you.
That is to say, I couldn’t keep the layout.

So I followed Rolyag's advice by creating an HTML page.
I managed to preserve almost all the formatting: font type, color, bold, underline, etc...

The only problem is that I can't get the correct font size.
I am Verdana 10 throughout my HTML file and when I insert my signature, it displays Verdana 12.
And it’s not even my default font, nor the size...

Could you help me solve this, please?

      Thank you!!

Using Lotus Notes at work for over 2 years, I had tried the HTML solution to make the signature more "attractive," and the layout issue came up. Aside from using an image, you have only the other solution offered by Lotus Notes to have a signature and preserve the layout.

Okay, so you’re confirming that there’s nothing we can do about it.

I regret Outlook (and not just for that!!)

    Thank you for your input.

If your box isn’t idiotic, it should switch to Outlook within the year 2009, I think, given that IBM is stopping the marketing and support of the software.

It is enough to add this at the beginning of your HTML file:
    <FONT face=Verdana color=#333333 size=2>

Hello everyone, The replies discussed in this thread were also very helpful to me! For me, in order for Lotus to accept my HTML signature, I had to save it as a filtered web page... However, two problems persist: - Lotus does not preserve the font size (Arial 10 gray for me) - Lotus does not preserve the scaling of my company's logo Finally, I can’t figure out how to change the default font. It always opens new memos in Sans Serif by default, at 10. I did put Arial everywhere in File / Preferences / User Preferences / Default Font, but nothing works... And I’m not even going to mention setting the default gray font: I didn’t find it and I’m not sure it’s even possible! Ah, I miss Outlook too...
