The bin remains full!

Solved

Hello,

The trash can displayed on my laptop screen always shows papers inside it even though it is empty.

I have tried several times to "empty the recycle bin," but it hasn't worked = it is clearly indicated that it is empty, yet it still appears with papers inside.

I attempted to right-click on it and then left-click on "explore," but there was no result.

What should I do? Please tell me the steps if you know!

Ylou

    Hello,

by putting a new folder (for example) in the trash and then emptying it again?
It should become empty again after that!

    (maybe it's just hungry lol)

    Best regards,

Thank you, but I tried throwing 21 copied photos at him and then I emptied them, and it's still the same!

So, did you check in the control panel to change the icon or didn't you do it?

        See you!

Has it just happened to you or has it been a while?
Have you restarted your PC in the meantime?

        Re,

On the desk, it is normal for her to be with a shortcut.

But there is only this icon that has the shortcut arrow and not the others, and I don’t have that on my computer desktop, only the recycle bin without an arrow underneath..??!!

    Hello,

I think it's only your Trash icon that is like that.
In the Control Panel, you should have a customization option, and within that option, another option that allows you to change desktop icons.
Try checking the empty recycle bin and then apply it, and see if the result remains the same.

Sorry for the lack of concrete explanation for the steps, but I'm on Vista and I'm giving you the procedure for XP from memory.

    See you!

Thank you for the advice regarding the full recycle bin = I managed to set the beginner's empty recycle bin by going into the settings panel but discovered that he's on Vista! And my computer isn’t... I usually handle it better!!!

You probably defined the same icon for full and empty, didn't you?

Hi! It's probably as Hombourgeois said.
To find out if empty and full recycle bins have the same icon: Right-click on the desktop --> Properties --> the Desktop tab and then on the Customize desktop button at the bottom left.

Thank you for the advice on the overflowing recycle bin!

My beginner boyfriend's computer is running Vista and I had a hard time figuring it out... but it's done with the icon customization that was suggested to me...
      But I prefer XP!!
