Hello,
I would like to transfer the VLC player from my office computer to my home computer via a USB key, in order to be able to play DVDs in AVI format. I have sent the VLC file and all its components (I think) to the USB key, but when I transfer it to the other computer, it doesn't work; the folder is there, but it cannot be opened. I don't have the internet at home, could that be the reason?
Who can give me advice? You are the nicest...
Thank you.

The simplest solution is to try going to someone who has internet, for example, on the computer from which you wrote this post, and download VLC.exe from the site telecharger.com, then transfer the installation file to your USB stick and install it at home.
or you can download the "mobile" version of the software that does not require installation:

It's normal. You need to download VLC (from telecharger.com, for example). And it's the installation file that you transfer to your PC via the USB drive. Your method won't work. During an installation, Windows writes documents to the registry so that the software works correctly. By only copying the directory, you aren't writing anything to the registry.
