enregistrer Deezer avec Audacity Solved

Question

Hello,
I have Audacity v 1.2.6 and I would like to record the sound from my browser (IE7) with it. I have already seen several tutorials where they say to click the red button and it works. You also need to set the source to "What you hear" in the sound card panel, but according to some, this can only be done with Sound Blaster cards, while I have a Realtek (and I don't really have a manufacturer's sound card panel either!!!).
As a result, I cannot record :-(
Please help me sort fact from fiction and solve my problem!!!!!Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello!

Try this:

Go to the Control Panel > Sound. There, go to the "Recording" tab, right-click and select "Show Disabled Devices". Then enable "Stereo Mix".
Restart Audacity, then go to Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O > Recording Device.
And select Stereo Mix. Then restart the recording.

Thank you, it worked by checking the stereo mix indeed as you indicated by going into the Control Panel / Sound and Audio Devices / Audio / then I go to the audio recording section and click on volume.
There, the recording control window opens, I go to options / properties / and click on stereo mix:)))

To make AUDACITY work with DEEZER on Vista without a cable, go to Control Panel, Sound, Recording
Right-click to show disabled devices, and there, Stereo Mix will appear; select it
Set Stereo Mix as default
and it should work fine.

Hello! I have the same problem as you, except I have Vista... on a laptop! So I don't have the stereo mix button... And I don't really want to do any cable tinkering... If you have a solution, knowing that the only option it offers me in the control panel is the microphone of my webcam ;-)

PS: I have Audacity 1.2.6, Mozilla 3.6.3, and Vista...

Hello,

To record sounds from the PC, I solved the issue for the desktop PC by using the speaker and microphone jacks of the laptop.

You need 1 cable with 2 male 3.5 mm jack connectors
(drawing): --[--]------------------------[--]--

So, with two male ends at the ends.

Plug the male connector of the cable into the microphone jack of the desktop PC tower.
In the sound device window (in the taskbar at the bottom right of the screen)
Click on "Recording" and the Microphone icon turns green.

BUY a 3.5 mm JACK SPLITTER 1x male to 2x female.
The splitter costs 4.19 euros at Carrefour.

Plug the splitter into the SPEAKER jack of the PC tower
Insert the still unused cable connector into one of the female jacks of the splitter, which should already be plugged into the SPEAKER jack of the desktop PC tower.
Go to the "Playback" sound device window, click and the SPEAKER icon turns green.

The second jack of the 3.5 mm JACK SPLITTER is for receiving the wireless or wired headset plug.
I use a wireless headset.
Plug it in.

Audacity recognizes in "Playback Device": Microsoft Sound Mapper Output.
And in "Recording": High Definition Peripheral Microphone.

The microphone records the sound from the SPEAKER.
The headset allows you to listen to what you are recording.

Enable the mixing (stereo) of the sound card so that the sound goes to the input in addition to the speakers; remember to disable microphones and other sounds to avoid recording them.

Sound Recorder is under Windows Vista :-)

Saves in wma :-_\ = lower quality & proprietary standard but it's a standard and you can (I don't remember which program or service = forced to convert otherwise) easily insert it (at least Microsoft did it well uh ... I'll stop there).

For Windows 7 users.

For those with a laptop that has Realtek: you need to go to "Sound," double-click on "Speaker," go to "Levels" and lower the microphone sound to 0, then go to "Recording" and "Show Disabled Devices." Here is the Stereo Mix, activate it as default, then go to "Levels" and lower it to 10 and disable the microphone.

After that, restart your PC, open Audacity 2.0.0, go to "Edit;" "Preferences." In the "Playback" device, set it to Realtek High Definition Speaker and in the "Recording" device, set it to Stereo Mix (Realtek High Definition).

For me, it works perfectly. I can record my music from YouTube. I hope it works the same for you. Happy recording!

Just a little info that might help a few people...:

If the screen is connected via HDMI without a listening system (PC speakers) plugged into the sound card, it seems that the Stereo Mixer doesn't "activate."

You can see it in the sound menu of the "control panel" (see your comments on this point), but there's no recording during the playback of a stream...

I tested it with a cable plugged into the audio output of the card and/or a headset, and there: I can record...

This might help some people to avoid "going in circles"!

For your information, my sound card is a Realtek and I'm on Vista!!

We talked a lot about the drawbacks of Audacity. This happened to me before. Audacity can record very well, but there are often bugs or problems with PC systems. Sometimes, it's annoying.
