Hello

I have a correspondent who gave me a ticket worth €10,000...
I would like to know how I can use this ticket because it says CONCOURS ELITE PLUS on it and I don't understand anything.
Please explain to me, thank you.

Well, listen. Since 2007 exactly, I've been receiving lottery tickets for a chance to participate in the Reader's Selection games (the latest one being from July 2008) and to this day still no results, but I am still a potential winner... I still respond to see how far they will go. They want to push me to consume...
Uhhhh!!! Doesn't that smell a bit bad?
But still, give it a try just in case...

I am also a potential winner in their 2008 lottery; so far, I bought the 2008 road guide which I needed, but since then I receive mail every week to validate my participation in the different pre-selection draws, as they call it. I had decided to respond to see how far they would go, but now I'm a bit fed up with it. I had decided to wait until they offered an encyclopedia or something expensive to accept it and keep it for myself without paying anything, like that I would have my prize, and now I stop at their latest scheme, the Plus dictionary. I invite all of you to do the same. How can such marketing exist nowadays with a shop that has a storefront? We denounce so many scams as pathetic as this one with READERS DIGEST; it is intolerable.

Hi, here I am, a potential winner too... since 2008... I don't remember which month, but I bought their road guide book and they gave me a great Swiss army knife... lol... I had given up, had other things to do, and they don't announce the date of the draw, so I'm fed up...
But on that day, 05/25/09, I received one of their letters... but now, since I'm an excellent customer, they are offering me 2 books, it's just for me that this was decided, lol...
There was also the lottery for 10,000 and something € (supposedly I would be the winner or not)
and also the famous form to participate in the GRAND lottery....
Finally, I sent everything back, sticking my labels properly and all...
We'll see what happens next; I'm sure it's a big scam, but I want to know how far they'll go...
        To be continued................. lol

Hello, I have at least 2 kilos of mail from RD since April 2008. At first, I bought the road guide, then I was contacted for the big lottery and multiple prizes, checks, cars, etc., and I replied yes, so I ordered a book that is undoubtedly unsellable in stores, but I didn't send a check to pay for it; one shouldn't take advantage. So since then, I've been contacted by a debt collection agency, 5 or 6 letters, I replied once to tell them that the books are available for them to pick up if they want. Well, it's been 6 weeks, nothing... EXCEPT a letter from RD for advertising for cheap loans???? LOL? AND TO THINK THEY HAVE A STORE FRONT..........

I’m also subscribed to this magazine; it’s hard selling. I've been a member for quite a while now. I will probably cancel my subscription.

I’m entering the contest, but since I’m not falling for it! I’m sending back their catalog and all that, so I’m not paying anything anyway, there’s no purchase obligation lol there you go.

I participated in these "contests" "drawings" or whatever... from Reader's Digest
we are overwhelmed with numbers and no longer know which ones concern what; the big draw, the other draws, in short, we are drowning in a bunch of numbers
we are inundated with purchase proposals always associated with new draws
in short, indeed, we are clearly shown so-called winners!!!!
As specified in the rules, I wrote to them and asked for 4 things:
--What were my participation numbers for the big draw.......they sent me a list of all my numbers
--To refund my participation fees......They refunded me ...in stamps
--What was the name of the winner of the big draw.....They sent me a name but I couldn't find out the place of residence AND OF COURSE I was never able to contact that person to verify their claims
    --I asked them to send me the winning number AND THERE? OF COURSE? I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE;
    In conclusion
The amounts at stake are significant (which motivates people) and apparently in several countries
I wonder what the group's income and capital are?
And I think it is a scam and I can't stand this marketing
I will order the books and not return them since they are not sent with acknowledgment of receipt
    sincerely yours

I’m really glad to come across this link, finally I can let off some steam. You know, it’s been about 4 years that he’s been playing tricks on me like this every year, I’m always the potential winner, always a 99.9% chance of winning not to mention the big purchases I’ve made, I’ve even kept all the damn selection tickets and what’s funny is right now they just sent me another thing saying that I’m registered for the 73rd sweepstake while they made me believe that with a 99.9% chance I’m the potential winner of the 72nd sweepstake, but when I checked, they haven’t even done their so-called drawing to announce the winner of the 72nd yet.
So my question is, why do they scam people like that?

    May I add something...
I am from Quebec, Canada. I also received the letter that 99.9% of Canadians did not receive...
Let me explain a little... in Quebec (1 of the 10 provinces) we are about 7 million. - Canada = 35 million (note that these numbers are from memory.) So if I calculate right, Quebec represents 20% of the population of Canada.

I received the letter twice (to 2 different names but at 2 similar addresses) that 99.9 percent did not receive. I live in the city of Quebec, (According to Wikipedia = Population 503,492 (2008[1]) SO if I calculate correctly, that’s 7% of the population of the province of Quebec. So 0.01438 of the population of Canada...

Am I really lucky to get this 1% twice or is it a scam... :-) It's up to you to judge...

NOTE: according to the 72nd sweepstake there were winners... see the site.. 17 of $3,500 (Canadian) and 4 of $31,500 and less. http://www.selection.ca/sweeps-old72.html

AND DID THESE PEOPLE REALLY RECIEVE THE MONEY.
    P.S. 1 Canadian dollar = 0.632 Euro as of September 24, 2009

And to think I just closed the envelope of this scam....!!!
Well, thanks for the stupidity. Making poor people believe in such things, what a bunch of **** of ***.
Thanks to everyone who gave their opinion, I won't send these envelopes anymore because the first response I also received is the same as most of yours.

..... DES MENTEURS.

If all Quebec victims of Reader's Digest filed complaints with the Office of
Consumer Protection (www.opc.gouv.qc.ca), there should be a change in
Reader's dubious practices. I just received a notice informing me that I am a finalist for a draw of $250,000. I had doubts, having bought no ticket and having no connection with them either. The information I just gathered online confirms my suspicions. I will not fall into their cheating. Thank you all.
I will, however, inform the OPC.

I had the same kind of experience as you!!! AND EVEN WORSE... I could almost tell you that the so-called prizes of $3500 and $5000 every month are a scam too. I saw the list of winners for 2010... I believe there was indeed a drawing... But they seem to particularly enjoy making typos in the spelling of names... They change a few letters & "aww no ma'am, it's not you, the real winner has already received her prize" It's nonsense.
