Sims 2 Double Deluxe installation issue Solved/Closed

Hello,

Yesterday I bought The Sims 2 Double Deluxe, which includes The Sims 2, Nightlife, and Celebration! The game I bought is a PC DVD-ROM. My PC can read DVDs; it is very recent. I tried to install it, and the drive started making strange noises. I don't understand why because my PC is capable of reading DVDs. But before it started making those strange noises, it said that it was unable to copy certain files like Autorun. I tried to install it by going through My Computer, but nothing works.

For your information, I have:

Vista
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU
2.67 GHz
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5K SE
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

I know that some others have had installation problems with this game on Vista.

Maybe it's because it's not a game made for Windows Vista??? Or did you buy the Vista version of The Sims 2?  Norfy

Yes! Yes! it says that the Vista operating system works with this game. I checked carefully when I bought it.

At first, I tried it on my mom's computer... It didn't work...
Then I tried it on my PC and it worked... For you, it doesn't work just because you don't have the 3D graphics card... and well, it's okay if you can't hear it well...

I tried the code given on this page and it worked! But I have an installation problem; it stops at 70 for the HOUSEMIX file (it's for the DJ thing, it's a song from the game, and yesterday it stopped at 95! It's so frustrating!)

It happened the same to me with the first installation of SIMS LIFE STORY, so I removed it, I waited, I turned off my computer and then I turned it back on, I put my CD back in and it went fast in its own way (sometimes fast and then at one point it slows down and so on), that's why it drives you crazy, you wonder if it's going to work and all! Now every time I install this game it goes super fast, in less than 2 minutes it's done!

Me too, it does that to me! I put The Sims 2 in it and then it installs normally and everything, but then it stops at 1!! Please help me!!!!!!!  PS: I don't have Vista!

Hello,  I recently bought The Sims 2 Double Deluxe (Sims 2 - Nightlife and Celebration Stuff), and with my brand new Vista computer, the game freezes during installation at around 7/8%. My problem seems to be pretty much the same as yours, so I wanted to know if you managed to fix the issue. If you did, could you explain how you did it?  Best regards,  Alice36

it's not coming from the code and even less from Vista but from your Sims CD
I had the same problem and just to try I bought the game again (I have Vista) and everything works
There must be a scratch that prevents progress
Also, I remember a technique (which didn't work for me but for other people)

If you bought it with a box, you need to install it. The code is written on the back of the box and it will help you solve certain problems.
