Hello,
how do I remove duplicates in the WMP11 library in one go?
It seems that I can only delete them one by one!!
Thank you
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

In short, if I understand correctly, the solution to avoid duplicates in your multimedia library is to properly organize your files on your computer. For my part, I have made copies of certain files and my organization does not allow for this approach. So when I want to listen to my favorite songs, I find the same song four times on a single album.

Isn't there an "intelligent" feature in the library that would allow Windows Media Player to search for my music while ignoring files of the same size with a similar name?

I advise you to use iTunes or SongBird which automatically recognize (if your computer is connected to the internet) any piece of music.
Then in the software, you can choose to display only the duplicate tracks in order to eliminate them.

For example, I have several music files in multiple copies. I am a fan of Presley as well as Phil Collins and I collect audio takes. Just for "Jailhouse Rock" by Elvis, I have it in 15 copies: he missed 8 takes, the 9th is the right one, the 10th copy is the extended version, the 11th is a 45 RPM version, and then there are the CDs as well as the remasterings!
Well, for Phil Collins I admit I'm struggling to find the original soundtracks where we sometimes have to go through pretty unclear channels :)
