Hello,
I want to create personalized footnotes in MS WORD 2007, as my client requests footnotes with asterisks as follows:

for 1 = *,
for 2 = **,
for 3 = ***,

if anyone has a solution, thank you very much.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

    Thank you for your response, however I have 450 footnotes to correct because the document already exists and in Word the only options are 1, 2, 3 ... a, b, c... I, II, III ...
    I wish to find a more "automatic" solution
    create a macro,
    custom list of footnotes
    create a font with only asterisks

    Alright, I see, yes indeed if you're having fun doing that 450 times... lol.. that's lengthy!! I think there must be some automated thing for that, I'll take a look...

    So I'm answering my own question if it helps ...
    I created a font (with FontCreator) based on Times (for example) where I replaced the

    1 with *
    2 with **
    3 with ***
    4 with ****
    5 with *****

    (I don't have more than 4 notes per page so it should be fine since there is an option in Word to restart numbering for each page)

    And there you go ...

    insertion > ok > at the bottom of the page double-click on the 1 > delete the 1 and put a star in its place

    but make sure to click on the 1 and a small box will appear and there you put a * and you delete the 1 there you go!
