Hello,

I have the same problem as smimil076 but I am with Club Internet.

Thank you.

Let’s say that my hard drive detects the Alicebox well, I have the green wireless light but it does not detect my PC. I've only had it since yesterday; nothing is lost.

I have the same problem as you (exactly the same), but for me it's Club Internet, my ISP.

That's it, I finally succeeded. You need to disconnect from the internet to connect to a local network, but you also need to install the NDAS function on your PC to be able to transfer files from your PC to the hard drive. You can find this software on the Coskin website. I hope I can explain it well, but it's true that Wi-Fi is slower than USB.

Hi and thanks for your response.

I have already installed the NDAS function but it doesn't work. Did you format the hard drive with the Coskin enclosure because I was already using the hard drive before, so I didn't format it? What do you mean by "disconnect from the internet"? Can you access the web radios?

Thanks

To format the hard drive, it was integrated into the casing, but I still had to format it anyway. Otherwise, when you left-click on the small screens at the bottom right, two lines appear and you click on "connect or disconnect". I have two networks: my Alice network and the multimedia hard drive network. I was telling you that I have to disconnect from my Alice network to connect to the hard drive network because there is only one Wi-Fi, so it cannot connect to both networks at the same time.
And when the hard drive network connects, the small Wi-Fi light turns green in the Coskin hard drive menu.

And then it appears as an external hard drive on your PC.

Hello and thank you for your response.

I will try that as soon as possible, but from what you’re telling me, it implies that you cannot access the web radio via your Coskin media center. I’m not sure if that's how it should be connected since the connection method you're describing is an ad-hoc or point-to-point connection, not a connection to an existing network. Here, you had to recreate a network, whereas I would like to include it in a network, and I don’t know if that can be done????

Me, same problem with my Livebox, Wi-Fi light turns on, Livebox detected in hadoc mode, but does not detect the network (no devices connected) while there are 2 computers on the network... I wrote to COSIN but got no response, the email links don't work... in short, customer service is terrible... seems like a real rip-off at a high price!!!

Hello,

As I explained, I would like to know how to get Web Radios for instance. For Web Radios, the media center must connect to the internet. I can see my network (DHCP), I enter my WEP key and the Wireless icon never lights up. I have the same problem with ad-hoc wifi, if I want to transfer files to the media center it needs to be connected either via USB or ethernet, but I bought it for the wifi. I have everything installed (NDAS, updates) but nothing works, it doesn't work.
Can someone guide me step by step as if I were 5 years old on what I need to do?
What are the settings for each icon on the media center (wireless,...) ?
Should I set a fixed IP address myself or should I let it choose one automatically (DHCP ON)?

Thank you for your answers because I've had it for almost a year and I still haven't managed to get a wifi connection working. I wonder if this model has a factory defect and I would like to thoroughly test it before considering returning it to the store.

Hello, can anyone tell me if they finally managed to use their COSKIN Media Center? I'm going crazy with this device!

Nothing works on VISTA!

I have a desktop PC running VISTA and I can't get my shared files to show up.
I also have a laptop with XP and that works fine! I can see the files.

My goal is the following:

To send my photos and videos to the hard drive on the Media Center via Wi-Fi... IMPOSSIBLE!

If I want to send a file, I have to connect via Ethernet cable! USELESS, and that’s not the POINT at all!! Especially at this price!

Anyway, let me summarize my difficulties...

- Impossible to make my files accessible on VISTA (yet both PCs are clearly identified in the Media Center menu).
- Impossible to transfer my files to the hard drive via Wi-Fi
- Impossible to get (especially I don’t know how to do it because the manual doesn’t explain anything!!!) an FTP server working....

If you can help me with this, it would be very kind and a relief for my nerves!!!

Thank you in advance!

The best way to calm your nerves is to take a walk in the forest ;)

First things first, the basics:
Are the IPs correct?? Can you ping the coskin?? Is the gateway correct??
If you are unsure of your settings, set everything to DHCP (automatic address allocation) and use an IP sniffer to see who is who, like ipscan (http://www.angryziber.com/w/Home)

Once you have validated the IP part, the rest should go better; I, for one, have no problems

For the FTP, you need to enable it on the coskin: press the setup button on the remote and look for the FTP icon, press ok to enter, position it on off then ok, and select on then ok

When you exit the setup, your FTP will be activated
You just need to use an FTP client to connect, e.g., Filezilla

Good luck

HI, I see that you seem to master the subject. I have a problem with my multimedia hard drive... the first one concerns the Wi-Fi on it, I’m having a bit of trouble sorting that out. And the second problem is that it’s only in English and I have no way to change the language from the hard drive. Is there a way to change the language by installing, for example, a program?
