Hello,
a while ago I saved (on FileZilla) the password that allows me to connect via FTP to my personal page. Since I am not very organized, I lost that password.
I noticed that it was stored in an XML document in the form of a sequence of digits. Is it possible to get the decoding key?

thanks in advance
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.14

The FileZilla client password to connect via FTP if you saved it in your sites is stored in:

    C:\Document and settings\**user**\Application Data\FileZilla\filezilla.XML

and normally it is written in clear (not encoded)

Attention Application Data is a hidden file. I hope this answers your problem...

      Hi,
On Windows 7, it’s found here:
      C:\Users\**user**\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla\sitemanager.xml

    you had a solution:
bobby - Jan 26, 2012 at 14:55 Hello, On Windows 7, it can be found here: C:\Users\**user**\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla\sitemanager.xml

    to which I add:

even without access to a hidden folder, by putting this "url" in the Windows Explorer, clicking it and if there is a program for editing xml files (like Dreamweaver or others ...) it will open it and display it ... with all the data in clear text :)

I just tested and it works, even though I uninstalled that program ... not bad right !

The simplest thing would be to change the password of the FTP account.

thank you for the speed of the response.
The problem is that FileZilla asks me for my old password in order to change it. Moreover, I use this same password to access a database. I am doubly bothered.
