Replacement ribbon for BEYER M260N micro

Hello,

A person to whom I had rendered some services, to thank me, gave me the two BEYER M260N ribbon microphones, from her late husband who passed away about twenty years ago.

They were stored in the basement of her house, inside the original BEYER boxes. However, the protective foam inside the boxes had aged very poorly, it had decomposed and was a bit sticky.
After cleaning and connecting them, I noticed that while one of the microphones worked normally, the other did not function and also made noises of moving parts when shaken.

After opening the capsule, I found that a part that should have been glued was unglued and, more importantly, that the ribbon was torn.

Questions:

1 - Is it possible to consider replacing the torn ribbon?
2 – Could someone recommend a company in the Paris region or elsewhere that would be capable of carrying out this restoration?
3 - Additionally, what could be the approximate cost of this intervention?

Thank you for the information you can provide.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

    Hello,

It is always possible to repair the membrane of a microphone. Since the ribbon is fragile and very delicate to change, it is best to contact the manufacturer or better yet, the importer in France (http://www.beyerdynamic.fr/). The cost of such a service can be very high. Don't hesitate to ask for a quote. For example, maintenance at DPA Microphones is €180 including tax/hour.
