Footer issue Solved

Question

Hello,
I have Microsoft Office and I can't seem to remove the link from the footers (what I write in a footer is appearing on all pages of the document), so I would like to know how to disable this link that connects the footers. (in navigation, "link to previous" is grayed out)

You are really stubborn! I gave you the only solution to your question since post 1 on April 27 at 5:41 AM!
You’re still asking the same question in post 14 on April 28 at 8:01 PM... this could go on forever!

JUST ADD A SECTION BREAK AT THE END OF EACH PAGE and disable the “Link to Previous” icon in the “Navigation” group of the “Header and Footer” tab that is located in “Edit Footer” (Insert tab, Header and Footer group).

If you can't do it, get help from someone who knows better than you, to start, and then you'll continue on your own.

Hello Ben,
You didn't mention your version of Word. Depending on the version, the method for inserting a section is very different. Given the term "navigation" that you use in your first question, you must be using Word 2007.
I'm stepping in just to point out this link from M@rina's site that should guide you. But I won't say more since I don't have Word 2007.

"I think you're right" Because you're not sure? Still! It would be good to worry about it before using software: On the ? of the menu, see "About..." which will give you the version.
You just have to follow the instructions that are on the link to have different footers.

Hello Ben,

Do you mean that you have many different footers? And why? What’s in your footers? If it’s simply the current title, there’s no need to insert section breaks. You just need to insert a STYLEREF field followed by the name of the title style.

Actually, I just want to write different things in each footer and leave some footers blank, that's all. And my problem is that when I write something in a footer, it repeats in all the footers.

The purpose of a footer (or a header) is precisely to appear on every page. If one wishes to have a different footer, a section break must be inserted.

Wouldn't you confuse this with footnotes?
