Hello,
I have software that allows me to change the BIOS splash screen (the one that appears when the computer starts before the Windows screen). However, to change it, I need the location of the original image on my hard drive.
Could you please tell me the access path to this image?
For your information, I have Windows XP and an ASUS P5N32 SLI motherboard.
Thank you in advance,
Gaétan

I found a tutorial (it can always be useful even a year later) but I think it's risky.

Hi,
It is not possible to access the BIOS because I remind you that it is not stored on the Hard Drive but on the BIOS flash memory that is soldered to the Motherboard.

@scarface72...
Imagine: you are running a company. You are preparing to distribute an innovative laptop. It's a small box, you want to make an impression, leave a memory. Every little surface counts... even for 2 seconds. No, especially those 2 seconds when the user has nothing else to do but look at their screen.
Apple has understood this well. AlienWare does it too.
And I'm asking myself how to display my employer's brand on the 35,000 PCs of our clients.
The risk can be assessed. It all depends on the investment and the returns.
Thank you for your links and comments.

Did I mention at any point a company or rather a PC manufacturer? All motherboards have a manufacturer's logo, so why wouldn't Alienware, HP or others do it? But for the individual looking to change this type of display just to see it for 2 seconds when they start the PC, I'm sorry, but I see no real interest...
Here's another one who understands a bit sideways...

The BIOS image?? Rather the startup image, right??
Otherwise, the image goes here, you'll find what you're looking for: https://www.thesiteoueb.net/faq-astuces/fiche-pratique-409-comment-changer-l-image-de-demarrage-de-windows-xp.html

Hi, I did this operation; I already changed the Toshiba startup image to a personal one without going through the BIOS or anything. I found a simple tutorial back then that told me where the folder with the images was, I just replaced it with one of my own, and there you go. Nowadays I'm looking for that tutorial or at least to redo this change and I can't find anything. But it's possible very easily and without risk since I did it. ;)
Here, I'll do even better! 8 years later! To say the same thing again, you just have to have the use!! I also remember software to change the boot image without flashing the BIOS, and it was a really simple tool. And since then Windows... So well, if someone comes across this and remembers the name of that thing, I'd like to know too. Even if you don't see the point. I myself don't see the point of knowing that you don't see the point, so I completely understand you, don't worry.
There you go, that's exactly it, hello the uselessness of the operation, in the kind of risky and unnecessary, it's even stronger than the appearance themes for Windows, it serves no purpose and slows down the PC when it doesn't mess up system files.
Toshiba laptops have BIOS translated (official) by illiterates.
